Crappy weekend to be a mid-major team. Just about everyone in contention for a bid lost. Dayton loses to Charlotte, Xavier lost to Duquesne, St. Mary's lost to Santa Clara, Gonzaga got killed by Memphis, Siena lost to Rider, and Davidson lost to College of Charleston. The MWC is the only one that looks good for multiple bids right now, and New Mexico beating UNLV doesn't help either. BCS conferences could take up 30 of the 34 at-large bids this year.

Little known MWC fact: New Mexico has actually been the best team in the Mountain West this year. By far.

Of course, their non-conference was pretty bad.

Yeah, I don't see any way they can pull an at-large this year with their resume. Far too many bad losses to make up for unless they run the table to the MWC championship game, and even then it would probably be iffy.

It's a 2 man race between Battle and Turner IMO.

how many easy dunks are penn state going to give up to wisconsin's big white guys? play some interior defense for God's sakes.

Their best interior defender is Cornley, who is giving up 5 inches to the goons on Wisky

I think the most annoying part of the game today was the PBP saying Keaton Moore at least 6 times. There was probably more but after the second one I started counting and had six when I turned it off (at about the 3 minute mark). Every time he said Keaton he would say Moore. When he just said the last name he got right and said Grant.

Its bad enough when your team falls apart but when the announcer continually says the wrong name it sends me over the top. I kept thinking Anthony would finally correct him but he never did.

Got ejected from the Illinois game today. Decided to run in front of the flags at the 16 minute timeout in the second half. Probably not my best decision, but didn't get arrested. That said it feels great to get the victory today, especially with Purdue's lame student section in attendence. Hopefully we can pull some sort of garbage Big Ten title, and hopefully I don't lose my season tickets. It's all in the hands of Saint Guenther now though

He'll have a nice, long career overseas. Who can he guard in the NBA? He's a 6'5 banger who isn't a particularly good ball handler or passer and rarely shoots from outside. In fact, he hasn't been a great rebounder in the Big Ten if you look at his rate stats.

Someone should teach Penn State how to box out.

and when they're cold from three, they're dead

i think battle is starting to run out of gas. he's small, so physical defense takes a toll on him, and he's short, so he has to elevate a lot to get his shot off. they're not good enough to blow out bad teams and not bad enough to get trounced by good teams, so they end up in a lot of close games and he plays close to 40 minutes. they don't have an adequate backup point guard and cornley/pringle aren't good enough to keep them afloat while battle's out.

nope, this team is 6, maybe 7 deep at best (and two of the starters aren't really scoring options). You can't expect Battle/Pringle/Cornley to play 36 minutes/game and not tire out. There's no way they win the BTT with their lack of depth

you ran on the court or ran in front of the flag when they run in the stands? i was once at a game where they were running through the stands and some litttle girl stepped in front of the flag carrier. they run pretty hard, i'm sure it wasnt pretty.

You're going to look so stupid when Robbie Hummell wins this thing.

I still like Manny Harris, but his stats took a hit in the Purdue game when he got thrown out for being too talented and on the wrong team.
