I put the favorite for the starting job first. Also, I couldn't actually list Thomas or Plumlee as a center

Has Oregon State ever been good at basketball?

Actually, yes, after they stole Ralph Miller from us.

Don't forget the great Nick DeWitz.

Didn't know that. Outside of UCLA and Arizona I am not too familiar with Pac-10 basketball. Actually aside from hockey I am not too familiar with college basketball history. Weird considering I like it a lot.

Thank you I'd say there around 10th with Purdue. They both had very similar seasons. I don't understand the 5 ranking

Ball State beat them in the tourney that year. :D

Notre Dame's lineup:

PG Jackson

SG McAlarney

F Ayers (possibly Zeller)

F Harangody

F Hillesland

ND will go with no true center. Luke's the closest thing but he's 6'8" in high-tops.

Purdue's lineup is the same as last year. Beautiful thing isn't it.

And yeah the champion, especially recently, is normally a team picked as one of the favorites from the preseason. The other rounds have a lot of upsets making march Madness what it is but the champion is almost always a favorite going into the season.

And Rchap Florida winning the second year wasn't crazy. When you return every player of importance from a championship team its not crazy they repeat. Repeats are rare ... as rare as a championship team returning everyone.

Looks like the expected UCLA starting lineup will be:

PG Darren Collison 6'0" senior

Your team?

I was waiting for the AP Poll to come out before venting on this.

How MSU can be ranked ahead of Purdue is beyond me. Purdue finished above them last year and return more. If you finish ahead of a team and return more than that team the next year you should be ranked ahead of that team in preseason polls. Polls are always annoying and biased towards teams that are nationally recognized as top programs but inside a conference when its this obvious its inexcusable. Thankfully preseason polls mean jack and it will be proven on the court but still gets on my nerve. The AP poll is worst. No excuse for MSU being 5 spots ahead of Purdue. I would put Purdue at 10 (so the polls got that right) and MSU between 12-15.

I've been complaining about that since the Coaches Poll's came out. Also How does Duke get 5th when they had almost a completely same year as Purdue did last year and have nearly the same team?
