Game is on WGN. The Cubs are expected to bring up 12-15 rookie league Mesa Cubs for the game.

If we win, we'll be 21 games over 500!

Also, can't wait to see how people act in the game thread during a game that doesn't matter.

Knowing Lou, I have a feeling he'll use Carlos Marmol. For 3 innings.

Btw, the starting time is 1pm CT.

I will not be watching. I have an appointment with an Otolaryngologist to remove and biopsy a wart that found on my uvuila. Oh, for joy !

Sounds painful.

Isn't this game at 2 Eastern?

That's why it says I think he meant 1 CT

I'd rather have an off day than watch this crap, the players are gonna be freakin beat after this and then the turnaround from FLA to CHI on Thurs/Fri.

Oh and...

Let's nobody get hurt, okay?

Sounds more fun than watching the hall of fame game.

More stuff:

"We're going to rest our team as much as possible," Piniella said of his plans for Monday. "We'll get them out there for an inning or two, and that will be the end of it.

"I'll try to stack up the lineup so that our bigger name guys will get their at-bat quick and that will be the end of it."

There will be a home run-hitting contest before the actual game, and Piniella said they were considering using some of the youngsters being called up.

"I'm not too crazy about the idea of letting our regular Major Leaguers do that," Piniella said. "It takes a lot out of you and it really messes with your swing."

Yea, I want absolutely NO Cubs starters anywhere near a home run derby.

Kristian is going to flip when he reads that!

Can our starters simply stay home and not go?

I'd prefer if they didn't participate. Days off are precious.

Actually, since we started from Toronto it's probably less stressful to go to Cooperstown than Chicago. Blah - I love how MLB can schedule around the Hall of Fame game just fine, but then put us on the road for the entire final week of the season and give us months where we barely even see Wrigley.

This gem from CBS Sportsline about Kazmir' upcoming start against the Cubs - Don't worry too much about Wednesday's loss against the Angels, one of baseball's best hitting teams. Kazmir should be back to his winning self in his next appearance against Ryan Dempster and the Cubs on Tuesday

If a team hitting .256, with 290 runs, 59 HRs, .386 SLP and a .316 OBP is one of baseball best hitting teams what does that make the Cubs (.283, 380 runs, 75 HRs, .446 SLP, .361 OBP)?

A better offensive team.
