I think appearances is just as important as total innings when looking at a relievers workload. Using him for 1 out kind of pisses me off. If he's only going to be used for one guy, then don't use him at all. Basically they failed to give Marmol a day off and didn't even really benefit from using him.

Its amazing how Eyre has 30 scoreless innings and I still don't trust him in this situation.

Yup. He's given up 2 runs in his last 31 2/3 IP, both in the same game (a 15-2 loss to Colorado in August of last year). That streak dates back to the beginning of July last year.

Ok I worded that poorly. They benefited from it, but not greatly. They got one out. The odds are in favor of them getting that out no matter what reliever was brought in.
