When was the last time Cubs won 8 straight? I know they didn't go past 7 with Dusty or with Piniella so far.

May 19 to June 2, 2001 when they won 12 straight.

Jeez, that was a long long time ago....

I remember it like it was yesterday. Sosa hit a deep fly to the corner in right in Milwaukee that might have made it 13, but it was caught jumping at the wall.

I remember that. I was at Game #11 of that streak in Milwaukee.

Maybe Julio Zuleta performed voodoo on the bats again in spring training.

I thought he performed the voodoo shortly before the start of the winning streak.

Which btb, if anybody remembers, then 12 game winning straight followed the 10 game losing streak..Interesting stretch of 22 games, to say the least.

It followed an 8 game losing streak.

I thought it was an 8-game losing streak. They lost 8 then won 12.

super cubs - just as good as regular cubs.

If they win tomorrow night, they'll be Mega Cubs.

10 games = ultra?

I don't mean to sound impatient, but get tomorrow's game thread up already, please!

I think the pitcher is still unknown... Since Estes had a freak injury.

I love coming into games and expecting wins.

It's just plain weird to be this good. No team I've followed closely in any sport on a day to day basis has been as good as this year's Cubs.

AP has it as some guy named Baek. And since when does not knowing a pitcher prevent a game thread from getting started, especially if it's the other team's pitcher? Just put in TBA and add the info later.

On another note, what happened to Estes?

Cha Seung Baek, formerly of the Mariners, is the starter for the Padres.

On another note, what happened to Estes?

He tripped coming down a set of stairs into/out of/whatever the dugout and broke the thumb on his pitching hand.
