DeRosa never comes through in big situations...

?

Almost positive hes kidding

There's been a bunch of "derosa never comes through in big spots" around here for the past few days. I'm not sure if there's anyone saying it at this point who actually means it.

Skip Schumaker with 3 RBIs today for the Cards. Who the F is Skip Schumaker?

The dude that hit the game winning homer off of Bobby Howry

Exactly....Another example of St. Louis uniforms weighing less than everyone elses.

We're the team for whom Sammy Sosa turned into one of history's greatest sluggers, for whom a minor-league catcher went from a .699 in AAA to one of the best in the game in two seasons, for whom an even worse minor-league catcher turned into the best relief pitcher in baseball.

We've had our share :)

Brewers and Cards both running away with their respective games, so lets do the same here.

Ugh.

Is there anything we can do to just make the Cardinals go away? Anything at all?

Sort of in the "XXX team needs an ace pitcher to compete" and "We just have to gain one game every 10 days for the rest of the season" vein...

Gallagher just needs a 2-strike out pitch to be really great.

Beat them head-to-head.

Playing better teams? The Cubs haven't had a tough schedule, but I think someone posted a breakdown showing the Cards have the easiest schedule in baseball.

Unfortunately we can't do that for awhile.

Honestly, though I'm still torn on whether they are legit or not, I keep a closer eye on how far above the wild-card we are. Games clear of a playoff spot is what makes me comfortable.

Al Hrabosky takes offense to that and thinks the Cubs have played way too many home games for their own good.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals have played 1 less home games than the Cubs.

I hear you but it seems like St. Louis has 4 guys a year that do this. Either washed up guys that resurrect their career or minor leaguers out of nowhere. Cory Patterson is in AAA with the Reds, and Rick Ankiel is starting in CF for the Cards.

Tony Womack is another example, and Izturis this year is actual playing acceptable baseball. Bo Ryan, that Rodriguez guy, and Pujols absolutely came out of nowhere to be Ted Williams.

LoL.

Yeah, but lets be honest now people, the Cardinals need to start losing games, and hopefully in heartbreakingly hilarious fashion. Lets see them blow the lead today. (They Wont)
