The Astros announcers think Gallagher had good stuff.

 

It was not a good start. He made some really bad pitches at times when he couldn't afford to. I could see swapping him out of the rotation for Marshall, but I still prefer Gallagher to Marquis.

 

I figure letting Gallagher take his lumps in the majors is more productive long-term than watching Marquis get smacked around every five days.

 

 

I do as well. Gallagher has some decent stuff. He's just going to have to learn to use it better. He wasn't very efficient tonight and made two mistakes to hitters at times and in a park when he just couldn't make those mistakes. It wasn't a good start by any stretch, but I think he's shown enough to get another start.

only took 5 innings for the gallagher love-fest to turn into a gallagher hate-fest... as is usually the case, the truth (gallagher's ability) is somewhere in the middle
