Losing sucks, losing to the Pirates sucks more...

vs.

http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_150302.jpg (1-3, 5.26)

So here's my situation - last year I got to do game threads where the starters were Angel Guzman and Steve Trachsel (Both losses, needless to say); this year I get Jason Marquis... wow. On the positive side, I get to make the GDT on my birthday, so give me my first GDT win, Cubbies.

Another lefty, so the Cubs lineup will probably be:

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Fukudome

Soto

DeRosa

Johnson

Marquis

Best case scenario: Marquis gets shelled and hence becomes DFA'd/removed from the rotation but the Cubs still win.

Let's start a new winning streak.

And even after that horrible loss the Cubs will be 8 games over .500 and in first place in the central.

I have no logic or reasoning behind it, but the Cubs will finish the homestand with a win over the Pirates tomorrow. Besides I like being 10 games or more over .500, so the Cubs better not disappoint. I believe Marquis is going to stave off ejection from the rotation for one start, by having a quality start tomorrow.

Cubs will win tomorrow, 7-1.

Ramirez and Lee are what? A combined 0-16? I can't believe thats going to continue, one or both of them is going to break out tomorrow, Cubs will score 6+ runs and win.

Not going to happen, but a little lineup tweak would be fun.

And why are we benching DeRosa tomorrow, who just had a day off on Thursday and has been quite hot the last 8 games he's started?

Just trying to work Cedeno in there, and Theriot isnt going anywhere. Ronny had a great knock today. Should have been an extra baser.

I'm just not prepared to give a guy off who's well rested and has hit over the past week:

28 AB's (.464/.516/.678)

for a guy in Cedeno who is 3 for his last 18, no matter if he's been robbed a couple times or not.

Now I might support moving DeRosa to first for a day, but there's no way I'd sit him. We'd normally be talking about how hot he was except for how unbelievably hot Soriano has been.

Why would you put Edmonds into the game knowing hes a lefty, while you have him out of the lineup when you thought he was a righty?

Edmonds can't hit left-handers, so there's no reason to put him in there against a lefty.

And Theriot is so much better against left-handers than right-handers that you really shouldn't bench him against a left-hander.

Not to mention that Cedeno in the major leagues has actually been better against right-handers than left-handers every single year including this one. Finding Cedeno a start should come against a right-hander, not a left-hander.

I got confused for a minute there, kind of like Lou when he left in Johnson against Capps.

As for first, if Lee is given a day off, it will be for Hoffpauir. I cant wait for Hoff to go 3-4 with 4 RBI and the board to be filled with Free Hoff posts.

Yeah, Hoffpauir's situation is nothing like Pie and Cedeno's.
