Johnson grounded out to shortstop, DeRosa to second.

Another hit and run?

I'm getting quite tired of hit and run attempts.

And the crowd boos. Lovely.

Sounded fairly tame on the radio. But the team has been playing horribly, they are losing early in game 1 of a homestand against a team that embarrassed them in the playoffs. They wasted a leadoff hit, and a completely frozen stiff Soriano made another out. I think there was a lot too boo about if somebody was prone to the booing.

Take the worst 20 game stretch for any player and most would have a BA of under .200.

And most would be booed.

Soriano either HR, Ks, rolls over it, or pops it up. Has he hit a line drive this year?

Coming into today he had a LD% of 20.6% (the highest of his career). He also had a nice .200 BABIP, when, with neutral luck, you'd expect that BABIP to be somewhere around .325

It's just been bad luck.

I honestly felt booing wasn't merited there. Reynolds corralled the ball on an inbetween hop better than most 3Bs would. If it gets past him, it's a hit.

It wasn't the hardest hit ball in the world, but Reynolds made a nice play on it.

I love it when the Cubs are losing 1-0 early in the game and I already stop caring about bad things happening because I'm so confident they're going to lose.

I'm pretty sure that 1 run is all they'll need.

It wasn't like Soriano strategically decided to give it a bad hop though. It was still just a grounder to 3rd.

Our $130 million man is hitting below the mendoza line and has looked awful in the field as well. I think people are just getting sick of him.

Yeah, they should be cheering Soriano- he clearly was aiming the ball to make it get to Reynolds on an inbetween hop. Tremendous piece of hitting.
