Hart blows

Oh please, he's pitched just fine this inning. He should have had the inning ending Double play. He should have had a ton of strikes that the umps didnt call. This inning should ahve been over long ago.

Giving up two hits and a walk in one inning is pitching fine?

Leadoff 2B to Holliday

Groundout by Atkins

Intentional walk to Hawpe

Tulo reaches on FC/should have been DP

------------------------------------------------should have ended inning with 1 hit and 1 intentional walk (can't be held against Hart)

Strikes out Iannetta

Single by Spilborghs

Podsednik Groundout

You tell me how the first part of the inning wasn't pitching fine? He gave up a double and should have been out of the inning at that. It always makes it tough on the pitcher when he has to get 5 outs in an inning.

Anyone ever hear of the 60/60/60 saying? 60 wins, 60 losses, 60 variables. I know its the game thread forum, and I too have been criticized for letting my immediate emotions fly here, but some days our pitchers aren't going to get the job done, or our hitters aren't going to hit with RISP. It happens.

If we go quietly, we went 3-1 against everyones NL Favorites, and last years NL Champs. Not bad.

Actually no, I've never heard of that. Is that something that's widely acknowledged?

Yep.

Plus, if it takes a game like this to spark the anti-LSU idea in Lou's mind, all the better.

That's what I get for basing what I said on a box score.

I'm so much more mad at this loss than any loss last year.

Of course, I was drunk for the playoff losses, so that would partially explain that.

Fair enough. Didn't know you were going off only a box.

No, I doubt any game this year will compare with the 5-0 This game is OVA! or the 4 run 9th inning by the Mets that just never ended with 2 outs

I think it's something more like everybody will win 60, lose 60 and what you do the rest of the 40 is what matters.

What about the game against the Mets, where the Cubs had a 5-1 lead in the 9th and Dempster blew it? I hated life for 2 days after that game.

Well, I mean, teams don't often win or lose too many more than 102 games...

but shouldn't it be 60/60/42? (or something)

It's based on the fact that the worst teams usually win about one third of their games and the best teams usually lose about one third of their games.

60/60/60 is bad addition I believe.

We don't always have to be jerks when people ask for PBP.

Asking for PBP on a play that gave away the lead is probably a good way to get an angry response. Not that he deserved it, but it's the game thread, and many posters quite obviously have trouble keeping emotions in check in this thread.

Oh ya, wow. Forgot about that one. I remember turning it off in disgust/disbelief.

Its not that he asked for pbp, BigSlick did too, its that he acted like thats our purpose here, not to have any reactions or anything.
