64 pitches through 5 for Big Z.

:good:

Hopefully Piniella doesn't try to push Z beyond 7.

Dusty would have.

Didn't Z throw like 115 pitches in Pittsburgh in April one year in Pittsburgh with a huge lead?

Z doesn't have his best stuff tonight. Not all that much control, not so much velocity, and his movement is decent but erratic.

he is too excited thinking about hitting!

I'm waking up in 6 hours, working a 12-hr shift, and following that up with a 12-hr drive. 10-1 (or better) at the end of the 5th is good enough for me. Keep it up, Z and whoever else pitches tonight!

Anyone remember the game last season when DeRosa has the walkoff against Weathers. Lee lead that inning off with an identical single. ;)

I don't think we'll need a walk-off tonight.

You're probably right.

Look out though if Bob Howry comes in. :)

Looks like the Cubs and Pirates have unearthed the Reds we all expected this year.

Now, if the Cardinals will just start losing, this season could shape up like it should.

I don't really mind the Cardinals beating the Brewers. Obviously one of those teams has to lose. I'm more worried about Milwaukee this season than the Cards.

But yes, after the Milwaukee series, they should start losing. Then I'll be pretty happy with the way things are going.

Unfortunately, I think they get the Giants this weekend. I'm pretty sure I have tickets to the game on Friday night.

Just looked and at least the Cards have to face Cain and Lincecum on Friday and Saturday.

I haven't been able to watch since the last inning or so, obviously Z has been productive, but has he had really good stuff? What's he topped out at? Edited by weis21
