just because I don't share the same opinions as you doesn't automatically make me a troll alright? Please understand that because I do not come here to troll. I have come here because I have been long time reader and hope to post here for a very long time. I have been a life-long cubs fan since I was like 5. My mom and dad raised me that way, especially my dad. I'm sorry I don't share your opinions about the direction of the team but I can assure you I share the same love for this team. 2003 was the closest I've ever come to cubs blissfull happiness. We all know what happened but our differences is just that, a difference of viewpoint. As long as I am a respectful and kind poster I think we can co-exist here. I've been thinking alot after joining this board and I do think I may be living in the past a bit. But honestly, what is wrong with that? I fell in love with that team and I guess it's just hard to let go. I actually think I am a very optimistic person but I just don't like the way we are heading, especially after the loss of Prior, Nomar, and the waste of money in Soriono (hey 2000 called they want their all-star player back). So please, I hope we can keep this channel of communication open and be nice to each other from now on. I really would appreciate if you would stop calling me a troll because I am not a troll. There is also no need to make fun of me. I'm a huge cubs fan and if you saw my pajama's you definitely know that for sure.

This is a big deal in what way again?

So he said he thought Neifi was a good player. And? How would the reaction be if Derrek Lee said the same thing (and he probably would, too)?

My response would be, "man, that's a horrible, horrible opinion, Lee...but thank you for being a productive and key player for this team."

As opposed to, "oh, good, something else Ryan Theriot is terrible at."

This post makes me nostalgic for Cubs.com. "I swear I'm not a troll"! Isn't that the first thing they teach you in troll school?

I searched this post for "Theriot" and "Neifi", or even remotely indirect references to them, but came up blank.

As to the topic: a somewhat unfortunate choice of role model by Theriot, IMHO.

Theriot: "Neifi was a great player"

I think Theriot is on his way to being an even greater player than Neifi. Theriot has already matched Neifi in 2 out bunts that end an inning.

Point well taken. But, has Theriot been up with 2 outs in the 9th and runners on base this year? If not, then let's just wait and see if Theriot can match Neifi's historic credentials.
