Hill & Pie sucked. Lieber, Soto, and Fontenot have not.

Really? He took a couple borderline strikes and made some great throws. He wasn't that bad.

Borderline strikes? The first one was a curveball that was right in the zone, the second one was a fastball right down the middle.

 

I thought the first one was borderline. You might be right about the second one. Still, I don't see the reason to single him out. He really wasn't that bad and maybe saved a run with his throws.

 

I can't really complain about called thrids when I'd like a guy to be a little more selective. That's going to come with the territory.

It's nice to see us beat the teams we're supposed to beat. I know it's early and I know we haven't killed the Pirates and Astros, but I'll take a (if we can hold on) 5-1 combined record against them anytime.

He had a lot of trouble finding the strike zone. And when he did find the strike zone, he was getting murdered (especially in the 1st inning). He settled down somewhat, but Lou made the right move to go to Lieber in the 4th. It's working out quite well.
