Judging from the shadow and the reflection of the sun in his shades, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that baseball + disc of sun took the same spot on Felix's retina for a few moments.

Sam Fuld would have ran so fast a cloud of dust would have appeard -- blocking out the sun. Then, with teeth clinched and a grimace on his face, Fuld would will the ball into his glove while ripping a hole in the knee of his grass stained pants.

Believe it or not, playing the OF in Arizona with the high skies is pretty difficult for everyone - from what I hear.

Yeah, Felix Pie sucks at defense.

I know I'm new here, but I can't help to crack up at the photos in this thread. Pie and Fuld both blowing a play followed by immediate doom? It really is funny. Thank goodness it's spring training.

At least Pie is willing to get to the ground.

Well, we know they're out there for their offensive skills and not defense. Oh wait, sometimes I get confused. #-o

It's pretty clear to me that Felix slid his barehand on the grass and right underneath the ball in time to snag it before it hit the ground.

It's a good thing a certain diminutive, gritty, former WS MVP wasn't batting or he would have willed the ball to pop out a half second later.

Why can't you just over-react like everyone else?

Nobody is overreacting. Everyone is just joking around. Unclench.

...with lightning bolts shooting out of his ass, no less. Can't forget about the lightning bolts.
