Hendry would be worried about competition for the last donut.

Sorry...had to be said... 8-[

Either that or too many lefties in the rotation.

I'm a bit concerned about the wear and tear on his arm, but I'd love to see him in a Cubs uniform. Hopefully Zambrano can teach him a thing or two about keeping in shape. :D

They could always bring back Hector Villenueva as his personal trainer. Get him on the "Hector Villenueva Eat To Be Free Diet". :D

Maybe we could get one of the current Cub players to contact him, and tell him there's no place to play like Wrigley Field!

"Hey, man! It's the greatest - they pay you a ton of dough and losing is completely tolerated."

I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable throwing the years and money at him that it'll take to sign him.

Yeah, he's gotta end up getting somewhere around $20M per year.

There is NO WAY CC is going to get $20 mill, unless it's the Yanks. And IDK if the new Yanks are going to break the bank on a lefty who isn't even in Johan Santana's class. If Johan can't break the $20 mill barrier, then I doubt CC (who has YET to win a Cy Young) gets more then say $15-17 mill per.

Santana is getting over 20 mil per year.

Ok.....maybe my math was off. But my reasoning is not...CC AIN'T a $20 mill per yr pitcher...but then again, I thought Torii Hunter wasn't an $18 mill per OF, and the Angels "got dumb" when they signed him.

Zambrano is averaging about $18.5M over his extension, and he wasn't on the open market. Still think CC won't get around $20M?

torii hunter is making $16m per year... that still makes me laugh.

There's this guy I work with who wanted Hunter on the Braves and his argument would always be. "He's better than Andruw Jones. He'll hit over .300, but won't hit for as much power as Jones, but will still hit 25-30. And he won't get more than $12M/year." Heh.

The annoying sideways hat thing has to go.

If he pitches the same way he did last season over the course of a six year contract for the Cubs, he could trot out to the mound every day wearing a rally cap for all I care.

IDK that. I wasn't paying attention. But still, he's not in Johan Santana class.

Nobody even mentioned Santana, really, except for you, when you incorrectly stated that he didn't break the $20M barrier.
