Mark him down for the DL

Edit: Oh and hopefully 18 is the only thing that Geovany Soto takes from Jason Kendall.

No Fukudome? He's wearing 5 in the video vs. Beckett, that would make my jersey a lot nicer. Hopefully, Brian Roberts pays a premium for that #1 when he gets traded to the Cubs in 2010.

I thought Soto's number last year was designated by how many HR's he planned to hit in 2008. Maybe 18 his how many home runs he plans on averaging per month.

Fukudome essentially had No. 1 on his Cubs jersey the moment he was signed.

Yeah, but it could be one of those things like during the draft. Every first round pick gets #1. Maybe it was just a jersey to show he was their #1 FA target.

Help me out here, I got a #5 jersey with no name from the Nomar day(s) that I want to be relevant again. Cedeno wears 5, but nobody here knows that.

Or it could be you're out of luck here. Soriano was sporting the number 12 last year...

Soto signed a ball for me at the convention, I thought he signed it with "18" but thought it might actually say 58. My wife told me I would look like an idiot if I posted it.

The lesson here?

I don't mind 18. Would've preferred single digits. Maybe 5 or 8. Much better than whatever astronomically high number he had last year.

58 was cool damn it.

And seeing another 22 is going to be weird, as I was expecting Mark Prior to be the last Cub to ever wear that number.

Should be used to it. Haven't seen that #22 jersey very often lately.
