Did anyone else just get an e-mail from the Cubs offering a "starting 9" ticket pack? People on the season ticket waiting list get to buy 9 games worth of tickets before the real tickets go on sale? Not sure if or how much the games you get to chose from are limited but it might be a good deal...even if I can't go to them i'd guess I could get my $$ back selling them on e-bay.

I got that same e-mail. I'll have to take a hard look at the prices because nine games at two tickets per is still a hefty investment. I figure it'll run around $900 that I can't justify putting on my credit card at this point.

I got through, but they have the tickets broken into groups and you have to select from cerain ones and only one from the really good grouping that including tickets to the Friday game vs the Sox.

I would have had to choose too many April-May games for it to be worthwhile for me.

Damn the virtual waiting room! Bane of my ticket buying existence!!!

didn't take long to get through...looks like the prices are pretty decent, to bad i still can't afford it, heh.

What a terrible set up system. $90/ticket was the cheapest that came out for me.

I am uber upset. Those prices were not the true price. Those prices were based on 9 value dates. Kinda shady

Nearly $700 for a pair of bleacher tickets for those 9 games. Those prices were scary.

It's a great idea and it will certainly keep resellers away, but I wonder why they did this without notice.

I got:

Mets, April 21

Brewers, April 29

Brewers, April 30

Padres, May 14

Braves, June 10

White Sox, June 20

Brewers, April 3

Padres, May 15

Reds, August 20

Went for a lot of Brewers games, assuming it'll either be (a.) the best games, or (b.) easy to sell.

I went ahead and did it.

I don't live in Wilmette anymore, though, so I may not be able to go to all the games.

If I can't make it to a game, I'll let people here know before I turn to stubhub.

I got infield terrace box seats for the following games:

Reds (04/17)

Mets (04/21)

Brewers (04/29, 04/30)

Padres (05/12, 05/15)

White Sox \:D/ (06/20)

Orioles (06/24)

Phillies (08/28)

Plus side, I don't have to worry about sitting around in the virtual waiting room when general tickets go on sale. Minus side, I'm probably going to need to take my mom to most of the games since she's splitting the cost with me. Nothing like a grown man with his mother at a Cubs game. -sigh-

I was excited to get the email, but those choices suck. I can probably get tickets to most of those games at the standard sell date. I don't want to committ to 6 games before May 15th, half of them on workday afternoons.

I'd like to take this opportuntiy to tell my wife I love her very much, and yes I am stupid. And yes we are still in for a 1/4 season ticket package.

I have already been presented with a purse shopping list.
