31 New York Giants - ME

that's the first round, i'll do the second round when we get closer to it.

sorry, didn't see that you had claimed them before dew volunteered to take them.

dew, would you want washington? that would cover us as far as teams go, unless i'm missing a team that doesn't have a first round pick.

That's cool with me. I can handle Washington without a problem.

we'll give handlebar mcskullet the washington duties... plus washington is close to tennessee and we don't want any funny business

Bah, my plans for draft domination have been foiled...

That's cool, I'm not sure how I missed Handlebar's post since it was before mine. That's what I get for posting at work I guess.

well then let's just make it

1. Jake Long

2. Chris Long

and go from there.

reggiemiller rules picked Glen Dorsey at No. 2 for the Rams.

he seemed to be saying that he was picking glen dorsey because he thought chris long was off the board. maybe if he's around he could let us know who he wanted if jake long was picked #1.

Yeah I think the Rams will take Chris Long if he is there, so if the first pick got changed to Jake Long the Rams will take Chris Long

So are we doing this based on who we think the team should take or who the team will actually take?

I am not sure who is left, the thread was pretty confusing and i only read it very quickly.

So my top three selections are

1) Jake Long

2) Glenn Dorsey

3) Matt Ryan (ugh)

reasoning coming when I know who I selected.

Jake Long went first and then Chris Long.

Thus you're pick would be Glenn Dorsey. Sound good?

EDIT: If so, then soccer10k and his Raiders are on the clock.

If the actual draft goes like this, it would be a nightmare scenario for me. I really want one of the Long's and will be ticked off if Al Davis picks McFadden. If Chris Long drops, I guarantee Al will take him because there's no way Al will pass up drafting Howie's kid. They obviously aren't drafting another QB here so that takes Matt Ryan out of the running. They also signed Tommy Kelly to a huge deal so another DT would be out of the question here as well.

So basically if the top three picks go like this, the Raiders are probably going to take McFadden.

I'd prefer it if they took either Vernon Gholston from OSU or Ryan Clady from Boise State, though, as the needs at those positions - especially the offensive line - are much more pressing.

So who are you selecting on behalf of the Raiders?

1. Miami: OT Jake Long, Michigan

2. St. Louis: DE Chris Long, Virginia

3. Atlanta: DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU

4. Oakland: ??

Is that correct? If so, I'll edit in the original post with picks so far so people can keep track.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's correct.

Also, if I read soccer's post right, I believe the Raiders took McFadden - though he would prefer Clady or Gholston.

I thought this was based on who you would select.

I'm not 100% sure on that. Last year it was who we thought the team would pick, not necessarily who we wanted.

I can go either way, though.

BTW, I'd recommend sending me a proxy if you don't think you'll be around for a long time. And Vance too, just in case...I think.

Who you would select.

Works for me.

In that case it's Ryan Clady from Boise State.

KC selects Sedrick Ellis (DT) USC.

Need some OL more, but too many holes and it isn't worth the reach at this stage to grab one. When Ron Edwards is your best DT along side two strong DEs in Allen and Hali, someone like Ellis (who will draw double teams more often than Edwards or Boone) should help them even more with pass rushing and help the LBs by drawing DTs and splitting gaps.
