personally, i understand reid's anger at being benched, but the kid who stepped in was better than he was. i don't see the problem. somebody got the job and did it better than him so now the coach is at fault? if anything, the coach should be praised, it worked out the exact way that he thought it would.

looks like the kid was built up his whole life to be a professional player and couldn't take a little competition. boo-hoo.

I agree on all counts. I hope the kid bounces back, and it's possible he got jerked around a bit, but in the end, the guy on the field now is better. I still don't understand why T Boone loves Gundy so much as a coach.

If the spring practices are any indication, Michigan's offense is going to be pretty bad this coming season.

I am not really looking forward to Michigan this season.

maybe not, and if we lose it will at least give me the knowledge that penn state will never beat michigan in football, so that i don't have to watch those games ever again.

Entering 2007 I would have said we probably wouldn't lose 38-0 and rush for negative 100 and whatever yards, either, so I'll take my chances.

I think "those guys" are mostly gone.

I'm sure many have already seen this, but this is an interesting article about Gundy's "I'm a man; I'm 40" rant from the perspective of Bobby Reid, the player in question.

Good read. My only question for the guy is, if he was so unhappy why not say anything? I mean, the article says the other coaches had no idea he was miserable. I think you have to tell somebody. But good for him for doing his own thing and getting himself a 2nd shot.

I don't think it has been mentioned yet, but the BTN will be doing a lot of coverage for the spring games. Every game (except Michigan's, which has already happened) will be streamed online live and archived for free. In addition, Northwestern's and Minnesota's games will have additional BTN crew on-hand for extra coverage. The other games will coincide with a 3.5 hour coverage show on the BTN Saturday for live look-ins and analysis.

HS QB Tate Forcier has scanned and put up all of the official offer letters he has received on his website. It's interesting to be able to see what they actually look like and say.

That's pretty cool. I also like how some have a personalized note.

In looking over a few of them, Wisconsin doesn't seem to have much direct contact to offer. They ask him to contact his recruiting coach, rather than even giving out Bielema's number.

I'd imagine that the kid already has the phone numbers to most, if not all, of the head coaches already. But the personal notes are a nice touch.

I'll take it a step further -- I guarantee tO$U will not beat Iowa either

it should be outlawed to not have to play either of those teams in your conference for two years. Seriously, they need to drop the 4th OOC game and have 9 conference games. or 10 for that matter

I completely agree. I'd much rather play 10 conference games than host the likes of Maine and Florida International

Yeah, that is cool.

KU's says "Dear Robert 'Tate'"

Seems kind of clumsy. Just call him Tate, right?

Oh, Stanford:

"Once again, we extend our most sincere and hardy congratulations..."

They should have presented him with a Laurel and Hardy handshake instead.
