Stat of the day, the Cubs are 82-0 when Geovany Soto wants to win, 0-50 when he wants to give the other teams a chance.

My first post is pretty ironic, given that Geo seems to have gained a good amount of weight. I remembered him looking real lean in ST 07.

Just a stroll through the park for him tonight.

When was the last time the Cubs had a catcher this good? I think it is safe to say that Soto will eclipse Barrett's best season with the club by a mile (.287/.337/.489, 16 HR, 65 RBI in 2004).

Best season for a Cubs catcher ever was Gabby Hartnett in 1930 when he went .339/.404/.630, 37 HR, 122 RBI. I think it's unlikely that Soto will do anything like that, but Soto already might be the best catcher the Cubs have had since Hartnett.

Wow, I didnt realize a Cubs catcher ever put up a line like that. Yeah, you always hear Hartnett's name in discussions of Cubs greats, but I always assumed that it was in relative terms to the stats of the day. .630 SLG?!?! In 1930!?!? Yeesh.

That wasn't even the best season on the team as that was also the year Wilson Hacked his way to 191 RBI.

The 1930 Cubs scored 998 runs, hitting .309/.374/.481 as a team.

This kinda makes you wonder how crazy we would be going if we were getting .356/.454/.723  production out of CF right now...

Soto didn't want to hog all the games, so he gave Blanco a few starts so he wouldn't feel bad.

ITT Geovany Soto is the new Chuck Norris.

There's no chin under Soto's goatee, just another bat.

Nah man, that's two feet lower................. :hello:

Will Soto make the postseason roster again this year?

Not it Koyie Hill outplays him in September :)

If things get tight in September, they should go with Kendall's veteran presence.

We should trade for Rob Bowen.
