A Cubs fan (apparently) who goes by 'Harry Carry' over at OH posted this...

 

Bruce Levine of ESPN 1000 Chicago just reported the trade for Roberts is heating up and the Orioles will have a scout with the Cubs everyday until something gets done.Levine is real close to Hendry and is preety respected in his field.That tells me Bigbird was correct in that they have agreed on 3 players and are deciding on the 4th player good job Bigbird.

 

Anyone else hear that report by Levine?

 

Yes, I heard it as well. BTW, I believe that all of Levine's "baseball beat" reports are on ESPNAM1000.com

with derosa's condition i bit more inclined to pull the trigger on this deal, although i think mark will be fine...DID MARK ONEAL WORK ON HIM?

 

With Derosa condition and Aramis's potential for at least a short stent on the DL I would pull the trigger. I too assume Derosa will be fine, and Derosa can fill in too for Aramis if needed. As much as I really like Derosa and as a leader on this team I think Roberts will be nice upgrade and a legit reason to move Soriano down in the order.

That OBP would look real solid for a leadoff man. Not to mention that he's going to be 30 this year, so that seems a good choice to get. As for the players that the Cubs might be parting to Baltimore, to me, that seems a fair deal.

With 50 steals too. If we are stuck with Theriot in the 2 spot having Roberts leadoff actually might make him better. Lots of hit and runs before front of the 3-4-5.

I honestly think this thread has affected the way people think about Roberts :D .

Do you know where? I can only find a Levine interview with Kerry Wood.
