i think i missed the part where brian roberts became a really good baseball player and not just slightly better than the guy we had playing second base last year.

It's a value proposition. With Roberts in tow, you can play DeRosa at SS(where he has value even if he regresses offensively), you can use him as that super-sub(where he replaces 300 PA's of replacement level production, and offers better than terrible protection against injuries), you can use his ability to mash against LHP to protect Pie(although that requires Kosuke playing some CF), or you can sell high on his performance the last two years to upgrade elsewhere.

Guys- I just got busted! My guy has read this board today and figured out my handle name. As of right now- I am no longer a insider. I hope things will cool down in the next couple of days but I will not be hearing anything else. I figured this would eventually happen and I guess I should have been more careful in my posts'. Yeah - I call total BS on that. That doesn't look plausible, it looks like some mark's idea of what they think is plausible. They played it too much with this cloak and dagger nonsense.

I have to admit i couldn't help but laugh with that Belkast story. He was given false information and got busted ! :lol: . I have some good news now. Belkast has posted again and has said that everything is cool between his source and him. He will continue to post information but only when receives the ok from his source. :mrgreen:

Belkast is a very reliable poster who has been scooping information on that site for some time now. Today he posted information about Roberts getting traded to the cubs by the end of the day. Belkas't source gave him false information on purpose to get him. With that being said i wouldn't be surprise if this deal does happen. The other two legit posters out there bigbird and peace have been saying that a deal is very close for the last couple of days. Bigbird and peace were saying today that things were very quiet, while Belkast was saying otherwise. That was the reason as to why Belkast version from today was different than the ones from bigbird and Peace. I was upset that this whole thing turned out to be false but at the same time i have to admit that the whole thing with Belkast was kind of funny. :lol:

I don't know any of the people saying this guy is reliable, and I don't see any volumes of threads that later turned out to be right. That anecdote sounds ridiculous and illogical on so many levels I don't even know where to begin. I suppose it would be funny if we were talking about the actions of 5th graders or something. Did he get Ashton Kutcher to jump out and scream "You got punk'd" and then they all went and hit the gravity bong or something?

 

Just from my experience, whenever I've been over there and seen a lot of confident, authoritative talk, it's turned out to be BS.
