Mizzou moves up to #3!! Unreal. I have been listening to all the scenarios on how they get to a title game and thought it was outrageous. Now if they beat Kansas next week, are they getting the bid?

They would still have to beat whoever comes out of the South in the Big 12 championship game.

They'd still need to beat Oklahoma or Texas for the Big 12 championship. If they do that, they almost certainly would.

You're a Missouri fan? Lol.

How about if UCONN beats WVU (a miricle, I know) next week and takes the Big East Championship, what kind of bowl do you think for them? How about if they lose?

If UConn wins the Big East, they get a BCS bowl. Not sure which one.

Didn't say I was a fan, but I am interested.

Unfortunately if you accept that the number two team is not the number two team, the system does fail.

The 2001 Cornhuskers for example.

and Oklahoma a few seasons later?

I SENSE A BIG XII PATTERN

Who deserves that spot over Mizzou if they were to win out? They'd have a Top 10 win, be 3-1 or 4-1 against Top 30 teams, and have the best loss of any 1 loss team(save maybe Arizona St.)

So who do you think LSU should play? I'm not huge on Mizzou or KU either.

Nobody. And contrary to what Meph says, Mizzou could play with LSU. Especially if the assumption is that WVU could make a game of it with LSU.

I'd was debating the Kansas as a top ten team as well. They'd be 0-0 against top tens teams and 3-1 against top 30 teams (OU, Illinois, Kansas). I am not so sure a 1 loss Big XII team is more impressive than a 2 loss SEC or Pac 10 team.

I don't see how you couldn't be sure. The SOS would be equivalent, the number of quality teams played/defeated would be equivalent, and most importantly, Mizzou would have avoided screwing the pooch by losing to mediocrity like Stanford or Arizona or Kentucky or South Carolina.

We beat you by 14, Duke by 21, but with the HFA difference, you're probably right...about as good as Duke. :D

Iowa is an embarrassment to planet Earth.

Trey Stross scored a TD though. Yeah, you know who that was for.

Ha....you beat SU by what? If you're earth we are the universe. There was a reason why Robinson didn't get a head coaching job until now.

I'd like to just reiterate that LSU is very, very beatable.

This is true, but who has the speed to match up with them? The Big XII's overrated trio = not so much. Ohio State? Not after last season's NC. WVU? They could put points on the board against LSU, not so sure they can stop them. Honestly, there are pretty much 2 universities that have enough speed to match up against LSU: USC and Florida. Those schools have the best chance to knock off LSU. Unfortunately, neither of the teams have a realistic scenario of facing them. Of the teams with a legitimate chance of facing LSU, WVU probably matches up the best, though I think LSU would score pretty easily on them. LSU isn't invincible, but I don't think the 1 loss teams match up that well against them. Their only loss in the best conference was a flukish triple overtime loss on the road to Kentucky.

WV had some injuries and suspensions on their defense in the beginning of the year and they are all back. They also lost in a flukish game to S.Florida on the road. They have a tough game against UConn and the Backyard Brawl with Pitt so they still have a tough road in the future and if they do win those 2 games I see no reason why LSU (if they win out) is the no brainer to go to the BCS Champ game. I'm sure if LSU does win out and Mizzou or Kansas do they will be the teams in that game. I do think it hurts the Jayhawks having Oklahoma lose and a 2 loss OU or Texas doesn't have the pull a one loss OU would have if they beat a 1 loss Mizzou. If Kansas played a tougher schedule they could have had a shot even with 1 loss. Only WV and Mizzou have filled my home and away 2 BCS OOC minimum requirement rule of the 1 loss or undefeated teams.
