Drake beats Butler.

 

Yep. The MVC really did its part today in the TV games with Drake winning that game, Creighton beating Oral Roberts at ORU, and SIU beating Nevada by 25. Very good day for the conference.

 

And as for us, four wins in a row and we looked awesome today against a decent Nevada team. Very impressed by the way we played today. Now our true test is going to come on Tuesday when we travel to Bradley for a huge late-season matchup in conference play.

 

Northern Iowa is going down though!.... hopefully, but if any team can blow a 14 point 2nd half lead it's UIC.

And IU finished with Eric Gordon and DJ White being their 3rd and 4th highest scorers. Bassett and Crawford combined for 45. DJ and EJ with most of their damage from the FT line. I'd say a pretty good win considering the circumstances.

It was the body contact, imo. NU player shouldn't have double clutched though, he made it a tougher shot and also less likely to get a foul call. Then again, you can't expect Northwestern to get a call like that, especially against a Big Ten first team guy like DJ White.

Meh, the kid who went in for the layup seems to be the only guy who can penetrate on NU. Right play when down by 1, could set up an open 3 too.

Uh... no. You're just wrong. Big Ten network showed a replay and DJ didn't get a significant piece of the shooter with either the body or the hand until AFTER the shot was let go.

 

Given the ticky-tack calls against Stemler while covering Coble, though, a call there would have been appropriate.
