Just don't pull an Oregon, Illini fans.

I don't know what that means. I'm not worried about anything physical happening to dear ol dad. I doubt anything is said any worse than IU fans chanting f*** you refs at their last game.

Oregon fans threw a lot of insults at Kevin Love and his dad, uncle and 13-year old sister (a lot of it was your garden variety insults and booing but there was about 10 minutes of really disgusting homophobic and mental health insults that really drew the ire of Pac-10 officials and Ben Howland and created a major controversy). They also spat on Kevin's sister and dad and hit his uncle repeatedly with signs.

Of course Kevin Love never really even considered Oregon, his top 3 were UCLA, UNC and Duke.

Wow. I knew some stuff was said and went on there but I didn't know it was to that extent. Pretty classless by the Oregon fans.

That was absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible. Times like those I wish IU still had Coach Knight. Sampson did send an email out to all student ticket holders to show class towards opposing players and refs. I don't think the f-u chant will happen again; at least I hope not. I was in the student section, as always, and was embarrassed.

Oh, not that it matters, but that wasn't their last home game. It was the UConn game.

Foul them. the two of them shoot a combined 57% from the free throw line. In a way I am almost gald I am playing basketball tonight instead of watching this game. It should mean something, but we are so damn bad I have a hard time watching us play.

I can't imagine why any true Illini fan would not want to watch this game. It's going to be one of the most memorable atmospheres in the history of Assembly Hall, the Illini played IU tough in Bloomington, and the team is going to incredibly pumped by the fans. What kind of fan would not want to watch this game just because the team is struggling this year?

Wow. Ronald Ramon just nailed a 3-pointer from the corner to give Pitt a one point win over WVU. He got the shot off with about 0.4 left on the clock.

I'm an IU fan and all but the announcers are nuts if they wanted a foul called on that last play. That would have been uber lame to win the game like that.

well, thats the game. i must have burned up all my pull with the almighty in that 2005 regional final game.

screw indiana, screw calvin sampson, and screw i don't know who that is.

like i said, the future looks bright for the illini, but literally, none of my team's have won in like a year and a half. it'd be nice to see a victory or something like that.

Illinois has to be one of the toughest-luck teams in the nation. Just off the top of my head they've lost two close ones to IU and one to Purdue. How many more of these have there been?

Wow, hell of a game. Gordon was coming close to a 10 second violation all night long. There were a few times where the shot clock was at 25 right before he crossed the line.

I have no idea why Sampson stayed in zone for so long when it was clear that McCamey was unconscious tonight.

Sampson isn't a very good coach.

well, there's the scheyer, gordon, shumpert, livingston, rose, collins, wright, rush factor, fo sho.

the illini burned up their karma in the waning minutes of the 05 regional final. now nothing good ever happens to them. couldn't even win an nc in that year either. talk about a cursed school. they fit right in with cub fans.

but actually, it's me, none of my teams ever win, so there you go. it's all my fault.

This is where I have a problem with "luck" factor and pythagorean records. By the numbers Illinois is one of the unluckiest teams in the country and their record should be better. But when you have a major flaw (free throw shooting) that inherently puts you at a disadvantage in close games, I'm not sure how much of it is bad luck.

It's like in baseball when a team has a poor pythagorean record but also has a terrible bullpen. Sure there's some luck involved, but there's also a reason you tend to lose more close games.

Love the no-call there at the end on Pruitt. I still hate the Big Ten officials. They suck.

IU is lucky Big Ten refs suck cause if they called Gordon for traveling all the times he does, IU would have trouble taking a shot. Glad to see Bilas point that out tonight as Gordon has got away with it in every game Ive seen

They have lost alot of close games, but it is not due to bad luck. Free Throw shots is the reason, even tonight all Pruitt had to do was hit 1 of 3 to win the game and he missed all three.

Out of all their losses they have only lost 1 time by more than 10. Its all because of free throw shooting plain and simple.
