I was wearing my NLCS champion hat and the security agent said Ramirez was through there at 4:30 a.m. this morning leaving town...two other Cubs were with him.

I got to my gate and the gate agent said the same thing, happened to be the same gate they took...said they left at 6:00 a.m. on tickets bought YESTERDAY at 7:30 a.m.

That really pissed me off.

I get what you mean by this, but honestly with the money these guys make they would have bought those tickets and just tossed them had they won, without even batting an eye. That and they probably had someone else in charge of that for them anyways.

Yup that's true. He is probably also pissed that the Cubs players booked town at the first chance they got while we have to sit here and wallow in the patheticness of the Cubs

They are called refundable tickets. If you have the money, they are the best way to go for flying.

You have an NLCS champion hat? From what year?

The cubs have never won the NLCS....(when they last went to th world series I don't believe there WAS an NLCS)

i'm pretty sure that's what he was trying to point out in asking those questions.

how would the gate agent know when they bought their tickets? Sounds like a tall tale to me.

She said it comes up on the registar when stuff is purchased. I questioned it too, but I can only tell you what I heard her tell me...and it was from two sources (TSA security agent said they went through at 4:30 or so) and a seaprate independent AA gate agent told me about the time the ticket was purchased. I was also standing there thinking..."you probably shouldn't be telling me this"...but I was wearing my nlDs hat and shirt and I think they both thought it was funny to tease me...the gate agent was talking about how she wished they would have been booed more during the game...I told her that was crazy and hated that anyone did that, and that's when she told me about the ticket being bought the day before and therefore she thought they "knew" they were going to lose Saturday.

this is freaking ridiculous.

not that they flew out, or bought tickets yesterday, but that you started this thread. Did you get any input from Rozner?

Well...since we're forgoing the don't attack the poster attack the post rules...

soap drop you.

I was there, they said it to me, I thought some in this forum would find it interesting.

I attacked the ridiculous nature of the post.

The Cubs lost on Saturday, a few guys bought tickets that day and flew out Sunday. Big freaking deal. People who can afford it by last minute tickets all the time, including open-ended refundable tickets.

This is an absurd rant. What do you want him to do, sit around and hold hands with crying fans?

I thought it was pretty bad that he bought the ticket before they'd even lost the game. Other than that I'd have agreed with you, well, except for the way you go about saying it...but I should know by now that's just the way you do things.

Not to pile on, but I don't get why you think that is bad. These are multi-millionaires we are talking about.

Hell, they probably had someone who worked for the Cubs purchase the tickets the day off the game with an open date that could be stamped at any time.

They don't operate like middle class people.
