If Lilly gets through the first inning without any problems, he's going to have a great night. The offense needs to come alive tonight. We've been killing lefty's lately. Let's keep it up tonight.

Yep, we beat this clown around like we should and I feel real good about this series. We lose this one and we are in big time trouble.

If it's not, it's pretty much as damn close as it gets.

Slap your roommates. It's a must win!

This is a must win.

Cubs, it would really, really suck for me to fly to Chicago at 12 at night with you guys down 0-2. Please win this so I can still be pumped when I walk onto my plane.

Ted, if you win this, I will buy a Lilly jersey shirt when I'm in Chicago. Srsly.

Go Cubs.

It would be nice if some hard-hit balls would actually fall in for a change. I swear, last night, EVERYTHING was hit hard right at someone. :x

Why can't they pick a normal time to start the ballgame?

It is normal local time. This game will start at 7:00 in Arizona.

I found Darling' comparison of the Diamondbacks to 1988 Dodgers pretty funny and way off. That team managed to outscore its opponents (628-544) and had three times as many good starters (Hershiser 23-8, Leary 17-11, Belcher 12-6 all with ERA' under 3) as these Diamondbacks.

It's a must win, no question. And if they do, I feel really good about taking both at home.

More excited for tonight than last night. Guess I just didn't expect to pull it out last night.

This is going to be the most nervous I've ever been watching a game. Even more than games 6 and 7 just because my Cubbie thirst has grown tremendously since 03.

Nah. 1984 game 5. I was a wreck.

I was in college, watching in my apartment, and when the grounder went through Durham's legs, I walk over tothe kitchen, picked up a chair and repeatedly smashed it against the wall until it was a pile of toothpicks. Never said a word, and nor did my roomate.

I was 14 and I punched walls until I cried. Damn near broke my hand. If anything that day prepared me for 2003.

I remember that Sunday afternoon, how in the hell did San Diego, a team with four less wins than the Cubs get home field advantage? - that 2-3 format was a load of crap.

I will forever loathe Gary F. Templeton and his soap-dropping hat waving crap and his comments when they were down 2 that San Diego was in it because "They are still the Cubs."

Back then they alternated home field from year to year between the eastern and western division champs, right?
