I have all my teeth and don't wear tank top undershirts to games...so I couldn't be a Sox fan.

Seriously though, my Cubs addiction starting back in the 70s, when I'd race home from school on my bike hoping to catch the last couple of innings of the game on WGN. The rest is history. The best part of this season has been seeing my 4-year-old son becoming a big Cubs fan in front of my eyes. It comes full circle...

My dad has been taking me to Cubs game every year on my birthday since I was five. I'm 27 now, and we've never missed a year.

I'm a Cubs fan because of my best friend, who forced me to watch Cubs games on TV with him. My casual rooting interest in Atlanta because of my living in SC until I was 10 was quickly junked, even though the 1st season I really watched the Cubs was 2000 - hardly a noteworthy season.

I'm a Cubs fan because it took me many years to realize it, but baseball's my favorite sport.

I'm a Cubs fan because of Chip and Steve, and now, because of Len and Bob.

I'm a Cubs fan because I want to live on the north side some day.

I'm a Cubs fan because Wrigley Field is heaven.

I'm a Cubs fan because it was destined to be so.

I am from North Carolina, not exactly the hotbed of Cubs fans, but when I was in diapers the only team that was on tv most days were the Cubs (Braves were on TBS and we did not have that station then). I remember sitting in the attic keeping scorecards.

Jack brickhouse and Lou Boudreau being with my dad at the game after he snuck me out of school hanging 1/2 a day with him at work then going to the game. He was an exec. for US Steel and we would still get the cheap seats with the guys that worked on the shop floor of USSteel

My dad took me to a few games a year in the '70's and I would watch almost every game on wgn after my first visit to Wrigley. I stay because I am the eternal optimist and I seem to really enjoy pain.

Extremely nice of the Chicago Cubs organization to make sure they are scheduled at home every single year on your birthday. :P

Growing up in Louisiana before ESPN carried baseball three or so times a week and before the advent of regional sports networks, there were three outlets for baseball. WGN (Cubs), TBS (Braves), and the Saturday game of the week.

That's exactly what I was going to put, except replace Louisiana with Mississippi.

Ryno, The 84 team (even though I can barely remember it) and Harry had a lot to do with me becoming a Cub fan.

i fell out of love with baseball when i moved away from Wisconsin (the 1982 Brewers were my favorite team ever).

I didn't watch much baseball at all between 1986 and 1992, but when I moved from State College to Chicago to go to DePaul, a friend of mine freshmen year got me back into it. First, the proximity of Wrigley and second, fantasy baseball.

My mother's family moved all around the chicago/milwaukee area growing up. My favorite uncle is a die hard cubs fan and convinced me to do the same shortly after birth. That's why I'm a cubs fan. I'm a die-hard cubs fan because like many of you said, WGN allowed me to watch them religiously every day and by age 10 I was and still am obsessed.

When I was a little kid I had no favorite team but one of the teams I liked was the Cubs because they were on all the time and I loved Harry. Then my summer before 6th grade in 1998 I fell in love. I at least listened to every game on radio, remember Sammy's run, remember every crazy game we played with Milwaukee that year in which someone always came back from at least 5 runs down, remember not being able to beat the Cardinals even though they were terrible. Then I remember almost crying when we lost Game two to the Braves. I thought for sure we were taking that game.

Since than I have converted my friend at the time to a Cubs fan from a White Sox fan. My dad who was a Yankees fan, My mom who was a Dodgers fan and I made a friend I went to high school with who didn't even like baseball now bleed Cubbie blue all because of my passion for the team.

You're either a Cubs fan or Sox fan when you grow up in the burbs. My parents were never really sports fans. Back then, WGN showed nearly all the Cubs games and there were no night games. I'd always come home from school and the Cubs would be on. I had a choice between watching the Cubs or Casper the Ghost. Ghosts freak me out. ;) My dad would always crack jokes about the Cubs though and how they would choke. Here's to hoping this year proves otherwise.
