I don't understand how the word filter works.

It's probably just a simple table that matches various swear words with an alternative.

I'll bet Tim could configure it to say other things if he wanted.

Anyone listening to the Padres radio broadcast of this game? Their play-by-play man, Ted Lightner, has to be the weirdest, most annoying person I've ever heard on a baseball broadcast. I've never heard a delivery like this.

I thought Andy Masur was their play by play guy?

The funny part is that we're here rooting for the team that may very well knock us out of the playoffs if we make it.

Possibly.

Or it could be AZ.

Or Philadelphia.

Or New York.

The scenarios are all over the place right now.

In theory, the Rockies could finish the season with the best record in the NL.

Yeah, forgot about them too.

Whateverm any one of them could kick the Cubs ass.

True, but it beats the hell out of getting knocked around by Florida if it happened.

Been there, done that. Havnt those bastards caused us enough grief?

I wonder if the Marlins could actually give one of the NL playoff teams trouble (other than us, of course -- we'd get swept). I suspect that they would.

They have some pretty good offensive players, especially with the emergence of Hermida. I'd like to think the Cubs would beat them in a series, but that is hard to say with their lack of recent success against them.

I think the only other team they could beat is the Mets. (Actually in baseball if you threw even Tampa Bay in they could get hot and win the playoffs.)

He does the middle 3 innings. He's on mic during the rest of the game, but really doesn't talk much. He mostly reads ads and gives out-of-town updates.

ALRIGHT-- 3 OUTS TO GO.

This is definitely NOT a team that you want to be trailing going into late innings. Even with Cameron or Bradley, the Padres are a tough nut to crack.

Hey, nice looking butt for "The Comebacks" came up on my screen.

Pads need this game.

Hoffman will be in even though its not a save sit.

You might be right.

The Pads are likely to need all the rest of their games the way things are going.

If it knocks the D-bags out of the playoffs, all the better.

God yes. That's another team I cannot stand.

Imagine if you were a Padres fan. I'd be mutilating myself if I had to hear his choppy smart-ass voice all year.

The pitching matchups still worry me this weekend. I'll be there for all 3, for better or worse. Zambrano needs to get out of his funk against Cincinnati. Arroyo has dominated the Cubs in the past, they got to him a little bit last week, but not too much. Derosa, Floyd, and Ramirez are the only players with decent numbers against him.

They should have left that other dude in.

What? Why?

ehem.

....because I didn't know Bell was good

You should remember him owning the Cubs in multiple appearances this year.

Um...Lots of dudes own the Cubs
