The Cubs might not be the best team in the league, but anything can happen once you're in the playoffs. The Cubs have shown the ability to get hot and be just about unbeatable. Not saying it'll happen...but there's a chance.

Good chance to clinch tomorrow with Maddux going up against Capuano and Z on the bump for the Cubs.

I think it ends tomorrow. I really do.

I certainly hope so.

I have a barbecue to host Saturday night, and I don't want to be a nervous wreck in front of my guests.

Hopefully I'll be in more of a celebratory mood.

Game time for Saturday was moved up. Depending on how early your bbq is, you may be alright.

There are still some people without Padres avatars or sigs. Shame on you all.

No matter what they do this weekend it will never make up for 1984.

Ain't that the truth!!! That was honestly the only time I openly wept as a Cubs fan!! That 1984 was a team of destiny with a bunch of veterans who had career (some end of career) years along with some young kids and one major starting pitcher gotten in a trade who should have led us to a WS victory.

*sigh* - to be a Cubfan sometimes really Sox

How the hell do we still have a 2 game lead? Seriously?

I don't know.

I wonder if the Brew Crew is just getting a little tired. It's been a long time since their last day off now.

Advantage Cubs. I can't believe the Crew is choking with us losing.

It's a double choke! Gotta be a first.

It's a choke-off! The great choke-off of '07!

Hey, whatever it takes to get into the playoffs.

When did this turn into a thread about porn?

I hope the Cubs win tomorrow and that the game goes fast enough that the Brewers-Padres is still early. Either that, or I want the Brewers to lead by a few in the 6th or 7th, only to come back and lose 30 or 40 minutes after the Cubs are done. Nothing would be more fitting than for this division's winner to not get to celebrate on the field, but wait until later and watch their competition lose in order to clinch.

Nah. I want an on field celebration video like 2003*. I've watched the actual video as well as radio call dubbed over the video a bunch of times the past few days.

EDIT: * - If the Cubs win the division, that is.

So...just so I get this right...if we were to hypothetically make the playoffs, the games would be Saturday and SUnday of NEXT weekend right?

....and the idiot Brewer post-live crew just showed Bartman.

Whatever retards.

*speaking to the Brewers, fans, & announcers/production team*

Seriously, this s* is getting old.

I know you want to be where the Cubs are, but GIVE IT UP! Cubs have left the door open TWICE in a ROW now, and you didn't take advantage... want someone to blame, look in the mirror!!

How exactly do I down load an avatar again? I'll change mine to Maddux in a heart beat.

Upload it to a website like http://www.Imageshack.us , unless it's already hosted online.

There's one great thing about this curse obsession-- it's taking attention from the real task at hand and giving them a false sense of security. So if they lose two more games in a season where they have gagged for the entire second half, we are the division champs. And I can't wait to see the looks on their sorry fans faces when it happens, because you know the TV camera will be showing the game if/when we clinch.

Home games, you mean?

Yes...the games that would be in Chicago...

I didn't really pay attention to the game is there anybody that proved more awesome than So that I should avatar?

Scott Hairston was your player of the game. 2-5, 3 RBI, Run, and the Pads only extra base hit.

maybe in a couple of years some team will be showing Braun kicking and throwing the ball all over the field tonight. 3 errors, another that should have been an error, and a two run single that tipped off his glove.

that's probably the real player of the game for the Pads, but that doesn't fit with the current avatar theme.

How did the Padres score 9 runs with only 1 extra base hit? Impressive.
