complaining about a ball that was a foot outside. after he flied out he had some words for the ump. derosa flipped out a couple of batters before for the same pitch. It was truly terrible, although the marlins announcers said it was "borderline". those two were the worst announcers i've heard all year.

That ump was clearly a Brewers fan.

Was he the one who ordered Roy Oswalt's wife to go into labor?

I think/hope that was sarcasm because of the Brew's griping during the last 2 days.

Not sure what the Brewers have been griping about, but it was sarcasm in regards to Cubs fans who were crying conspiracy theory because the Brewers didn't have to face Oswalt because his wife was having a baby.

Aramis got a strike call on a pitch that was outside by about a foot- the same one Derosa got called out on in the prior AB. Two pitches later, he flied out on that same pitch, which he must have felt he swung at only to protect the plate because of the terrible call on the prior pitch.

Sportscenter made Aramis look bad because they showed the previous pitch on TV- which was a called strike which was actually probably a strike. Aramis was more pissed off about the pitch before.

The ump had been calling it all night. Monroe was called out on the same pitch.

Yeah, but Monroe probably swung at it. There's a difference.

well, just got back from my first cubs game...

good times

marlins fans are complete jerks...seriously...obnoxious and rude...some other fans and i almost got into a "situation" with one "fan" in particular because of his blatant drunken rude behavior...the ushers came over a few minutes later and had a little "talk" with him though...he was quiet for the rest of the game...

i was watching aram's pop fly, so i didn't even see him go up to the ump and say anything...i looked over after it was over and aramis just looked pissed off walking back to the dugout...but yeah...derosa was pretty steamed over his called strike...

i am glad i got to see monroe's first homer...i still actually can't believe that actually happened...

and i am still pissed that floyd was batting instead of murton at the end of the game....

other than that, the best part of the whole night was the large amount of cub fans and during the seventh inning stretch when they all shout root root root for the CUBBIES...that was AWESOME!!!

oh well, 2 games ahead now...grrrrr...i guess we can only pray that they can take the next two...please lord...

oh...one more thing...they played...i believe it was game 7 of the NLCS on the big screen during the being of the game between innings...i was awol from baseball at that time so i never saw any of those games...

but jeez...how terribly classy of the marlins for showing that...

bollocks i tell you, bollocks

The announcers last night said that they played a clip of the 8th inning of game 6 of the NLCS. Is that true??

Posted

they definitely played a clip of that series...it was a shot to the left center wall at wrigley...so yeah...maybe it was game 6...like i said i was awol from baseball at that time...

i really do not understand how they can really stoop so totally low...it is sad...

all the cub fans were booing...VERY loudly while it was being played...

pure crap

When they know its rubbing it in the face of the visiting and majority of fans? Pretty dumb and petty thing to do.

Not our fault they love dismantling their franchise every time they win.

Still their victory, still their stadium. Honestly, in the big picture, any Cubs fans' complaining is just sour grapes.

He threw his bat halfway to 1st base. Honestly, I was hoping ARam wasn't going to be playing with a suspension.

That ump was total crap with the 1-foot off the plate calls, but ARam's got to think about the big picture. He was playing with fire there.

Edit: another thing I didn't like is, it looked to me with DeRo and Aram flipping out, that it was obvious the Cubs were pressing. That's not good, not good at all if it's true. You can't be pressing with a 3 game lead -- just go out and play your game.

If they start pushing, looking over their shoulder, freaking out -- the Crew really will catch us.

A bad ump in a critical 9th inning will usually cause a player to press. I'm not worried about it.

I think that's nonsense.

This isn't just a Florida thing, lots of teams do this confrontational BS, and it's disgusting. They do it in Philly and NY, and even the Rockies pulled this crap. It basically eggs on bad behavior by the fans.

Their house their rules is absurd. There's no justification for that ignorant behavior and obvious attempt to stir up emotions that will lead to problems.

Agreed. It's classless.

Considering the Marlins only had 3 Marlin fans in the stands last night, you would think they would do anything possibly to please the visiting team fans.

Seriously.

I think at this point that whole org probably just wants to leave Florida. They've been told "no" at every turn to try to get a new stadium, the fans never show up. It's a joke down there. Seriously, it's like Montreal all over again.

LOL, Marlins games in Puerto Rico in '08?

Calling what DeRosa and Aramis did in the 9th "flipping out" is ludicrous. DeRosa argued briefly with the home plate ump for a strike 3 that wasn't a strike. Ramirez in frustration throw his bat on the way to first and then said something to the ump on his way back. Seemed pretty standard to me.

It all depends. Do they show that clip regularly? When other teams play?

Or was it unveiled only for the Cubs. If it was just for the Cubs, it's pretty lame. Sadly, since there are barely any witnesses to Florida's other home games, we may never know.

i don't know...if it is the clip from Game 6...well...then it obviously HAS to be for the cubs...they won the series in Game 7 right?

no point in showing a game in which they didn't clinch unless it is to rub it your face

this was my first game outside of the 4 i have seen at tropicana field...VERY different environment...first of all...i never thought that i would see less people in a stadium than at tropicana...that was freaking mind-blowing...

and playing this type of "in-your-face" video obviously contributed to the rude behavior being witnessed up close and personal last night...
