Here's TBS's announcers for the playoffs

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnist/hiestand-tv/2007-09-21-hiestand-weekend_N.htm

- Chip/Gwynn (They're doing the NLCS too and are the #1 team on TBS)

- Ted Robinson/Joe Simpson

- Don Orsillo/Steve Stone

- Dick Stockton/Bob Brenly

Per the Len & Bob blog, Bob is going to be joining Chip/Gwynn for the NLCS as well.

I bet if the Cubs are on TBS during the NLDS, we'll get Robinson/Simpson, seeing as that's the only pair without Cubs' ties, either formerly or presently.

Eh, everyone on the list has conflicts:

Chip: ex-Cubs PBP

Tony Gwynn: Shouldn't work Padres games for obvious reasons

Robinson: ex Mets PBP guy

Simpson: Former Angels player

Orsillo: Current Red Sox PBP guy (shouldn't work Sox or Yankees games)

Stone: former Cubs color guy for years

Stockton: Former Red Sox PBP guy

Brenly: Current Cubs Color guy and ex-DBacks manager

Depending on how things shake out, it may be unavoidable that they have to put a "homer" in the booth for a game.

If it ends up being Cubs/D-backs, I definitely see the Brenly team doing the games, just because of Brenly's ties to both teams.

How do the playoff look? Will the Cubs face the winner in the west or possibly the wild card team?

It will either be the west winner or the east winner, depending on which team wins the WC.

The Cubs could only face the wild card team if they had the best record in the league, or if they have the second best record in the league and the wild card comes from the same division as the team with the best record in the league.

So, probably won't face the wild card team in round one.

It seems unavoidable at this point that the Cubs will face a West team. Arizona is the team we'd play right now since the Padres lead the wildcard. If the Phillies were to get the wild card, the Cubs would play the Mets, but it's highly unlikely. Either matchup doesn't inspire confidence.

How is it highly unlikely that a Phillies team that is currently 0.5 games out of the WC will win it?

Well, damn if I knew that they were that close.

Personally I want to see Philly win that WC - the Mets scare me less than the DBacks. Brandon Webb and Doug Davis would make it quite hard to take any games from AZ.

I couldn't stand Chip Caray. He talked waaaaaaay too much and waaaaay to quickly. It also seemed as though Stoney started talking too much as well, kind of trying to get a word in edge-wise. Sometimes, a little silence is good -- part of the nature of baseball.

Len and Bob are much better than I initially thought. Much as I enjoy Stone on the Score, Brenly makes up for his absence from the booth.

I love Ronnie as a Cub, not as an announcer. I get irritated when he asks Pat questions about the players -- doesn't he do ANY research? On the other hand, I like listening to someone who feels the pain -- and the occasionl euphoria -- even more than I do.

I'll just keep on rooting for the Cubs and Rockies to keep on winning lol. I'd love to be able to head to Denver for a series.

If I want to hear an old man yell at the Cubs, I'll go to my grandparent's house.

I appreciate Santo and his passion, but he's awful to listen to.
