Whats wrong with the Flyers man, thats 10 in a row. I don't watch much of their games but looking at their roster, I have trouble figuring them out. They look good on paper and really deep at forward.

The Canucks are supposedly interested in Brad Richards, wonder what it would take to get him.

wow the kings almost pulled off another crazy comeback but i'm happy with the result anyway. they don't need the points and i actually like the blackhawks. it was a good "character" game, especially for a young team like them.

I love the Blackhawks, and I am glad the Hawks are finally trying to do something. But man, Patty Sharp has been such a STEAL from the Flyers, that Philly fans should be rioting in the streets.

terrible coach and a lack of puck-moving defensemen. i won't use injuries to lupul, gagne, upshall, hatcher and now richards as an excuse. the pens lost crosby and haven't missed a beat.

john stevens is awful. there's a penalty for too many men on the ice every other game, which falls on the coaching staff. he's completely emotionless and lacks any sense of urgency, which shows when the team inexplicably comes out flat with startling frequency. he has extreme loyalty to certain players, like jim vandermeer, who couldn't have done anything more to play his way out of the lineup. Thankfully paul holmgren got vandermeer off the team, but we've still got randy jones, who can move the puck okay, but is usually good to give up a goal a game due to poor positioning or stupid penalties. derian hatcher plays a good positional game, but he's about as mobile as a filing cabinet at this stage of his career. meanwhile one of our best defensive defensemen, lasse kukkonen, sits as a healthy scratch every night.

he's a nice guy, i suppose, but he's overmatched at this level. i think that the flyers' front office realizes how badly this team is underachieving, and they've never shown any reluctance to make a change at the head coaching position. stevens may be gone after this year, at least i sure hope he is.

not really. we have too many good young forwards already. sharp was never going to be anything more than a third or fourth line player with us, because he was never going to play ahead of guys like carter, richards and umberger. i'm glad that he's doing well in chicago, but he wouldn't be a 30 goal scorer playing 7 minutes a night with a checking center and a goon on his line.

wow. brad richards to dallas, brian campbell to san jose, cristobal huet to capitals.

the huet thing was totally unexpected. great move for the caps. only gave up a 2nd rounder for him?

WOW Hossa to the Penguins. Esposito, Armstrong, Christensen, and maybe a 1st rounder back to the Thrashers.

Good thing. Malkin could use a scorer on his wing to help him break out of his slump.

But seriously, that's a ton for a rental. They can't possibly afford to extend him with new Crosby and Malkin (and Fleury?) deals upcoming these next couple years. Now every penalty will result in a goal with Malkin-Sid-Hossa-Gonchar-Whitney PP.

Fredric Sjostrom, David LeNeveu and Josh Gratton for Al Montoya and Marcel Hossa.

What's the point for Sather to make this deal?

other moves

Marc-Andre Bergeron to Anaheim for 3rd rounder

Brad Stuart to Wings for 2nd & 4th

Matt Cooke to Caps for Matt Pettinger

Tuomo Ruutu to Canes for Andrew Ladd

Adam Foote to Avs for cond. 1st

Sergei Fedorov to Caps for Theo Ruth

Ruslan Salei to Avs for Karlis Skrastins

well the flyers seem to have extracted their heads from their collective rears, and now have won three in a row. back up to #8 in the east, with a big game against the rags tomorrow.

in other news, danny briere has to be one of the worst players in the league when it comes to playing defense. his attitude toward back checking is completely cavalier. i mean, he's a -25 for God's sakes. that would've been understandable on last year's team, but a team that's in playoff contention??? come on.

here come the hawks!!!!

Beat me to it. Great to see them going into a tough place for them and pulling out a huge win.

Can't have a letdown tomorrow night though. Unfortunately there can really be very few letdowns over the next month.

Sedins are getting tossed around out there, they need to step it up. Baseball season can't come soon enough.

Devils win

Woo!!!

4 goals, that's a season high right?

Nah, they scored 6 once. But 4 is still shocking. I thought we'd just win every game 2-1.

Have you been to the Prudential Center yet? Or did Barry Melrose scare you away? I'm like 15 minutes away from it and I might be going soon.

Freaking Blackhawks are doing just enough to keep faint hopes alive without actually making up any ground. But I think it can be good for a young team like this to play well down the stretch, even if all it does is mess up their draft status.
