Michigan by two touchdowns.

I don't know how much UM will win by but I feel pretty confident saying they will beat Penn State.

based on?

I don't think Penn State is very good, UM has the better starting QB and offense in general, and the game is at the Big House.

i think this year proves that being at the Big House has little to no effect on the game

Penn State has to be at least 10 points better to overcome the refs.

I will never forget in the game that Paterno chased down the ref, He must of told him about the obvious trap that a Penn St receiver got called a reception early in their last drive. Somehow I sure am he and the other Penn St fans havent been complaining about that call for 4 years. Only the one where their receiver caught the ball but was ruled out of bounds.

Penn St gets just as many good calls as Michigan or Notre Dame or Michigan St or Illinois. They probably arent crying about the ones going in their favor. Only the ones that go against them. The truth is Michigan has been a better team than Penn St for the last 8 yrs or so. If your team would focus on that instead of "refs" you might actually get better.

Am I the only fan that didn't know that Charleston Southern even had a football team? Why to go Hawaii.

Texas A&M vs Miami will rid some doubts about both teams.

I still think Michigan St is a team to watch along with Arizona St. I'd say Cincy but I'd be accused of being a BE homer!

Texas has to step up and beat Rice, is Applegate their OC?

Will this be a year that OSU doesn't really dominate but yet, wins all their games? They did a nice job at Washington and won 40-14, did they really crush them like that or did it get out of hand? I didn't watch any games this weekend and I was really interested in that game.

Kentucky at Arkansas should be very interesting and Kentucky gets LSU and Florida at home later so this is a very big game for them.

BC looks like they should steamroll through the ACC unless Clemson gives a match up problem in November.

ND is killing a lot of teams SOS, especially the ones that really counted on them as their only good out of conference game.

Louisville's D gets a big test this weekend against Syracuse. If they give up 20, they have an even worse defense than I thought. If they had a D they'd be incredible. The Cards may score 80 in this one.

Oklahoma at Tulsa looks like fun. I give the Sooners some credit for going to Tulsa.

Unless I'm mistaken, Tennessee is the only SEC team to play an out of conference away game out of 12 teams. That's amazing.

I think both A&M and Miami are slightly above avg teams so not sure a whole lot will be determined. This is one of those games where I think the home team will win.

Assuming you meant Applewhite, he bolted from Rice to Bama to become Saben's OC. He grew up a big Alabama fan, pretty sure his dad played for them.

Rice is very bad this year and very young. Major did a great job for them last year, but this year's team is going to get smoked by at least 50 in Austin.

Plus I will be at the game and in Austin all weekend, so I hope for a beating ;-). I am going to say 56-3 with Sweed getting 3 td receptions. I'm not sure if I am more excited for the game with the clubhouse tickets or hitting 6th Street. Either way I might not remember a whole lot of it.

You've had more of your boys have been arrested than Syracuse has TD's! :D

I always say Applegate for some reason. I thought he went somewhere else but I wasn't sure where.

The A&M game will give us the 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon because of who they played and will play.

Enjoy your day with the Horns!

ah the nebulous claims of "you guys get as many as michigan does" by a michigan fan... yet zero detail on the calls that we do get. Meanwhile I can name 10 plays in the 2002 and 2005 games that were erroneous calls that went against penn state. If Michigan has gotten jobbed on fumble rulings, sideline calls and mysterious clock decisions, please provide some examples. I'd love to hear them.

And by the way, Michigan did not have a better team in 2005... 2002 is arguable.

Indiana vs Illinois should be an awesome game. Getting to 4-0 would almost clinch a bowl game for IU with remaining games against the likes of Minnesota, Ball State and Northwestern. Plus the Iowa, MSU & Purdue games are also winnable.....tough but winnable.

Ball State isn't a gimme this year.

The rain should be out of Pasadena by game time (the late start should help) because this offense sucks even when it's dry; they'd really struggle in the rain. Edited by CaliforniaRaisin

No joke, I am getting tired of it. The one thing I always liked about Mack Brown was that he ran a quality program with no/little trouble. Lately they have had a few issues. Mostly with guys who don't really impact the school, but still.

I don't see Applewhite leaving Bama for a while unless its for a really good job. Although its only a matter of time before he gets a head coaching job. He will probably still look younger than most of his players when that happens.

I'll be there at our games against both UI and IU, so I hope we can steal one of those. The Navy win last week was electric.

BTW, living in the Midwest isn't cool this week - we get Iowa/Wisco instead of Wazzu/USC

WSU/USC is at LA, I don't think this game is going to be close.

I know this, I'd just rather watch USC than Wisconsin

I don't blame you there. That's how you run a program and it would be a blast to watch if I didn't hate them so much.

I do. I'll be at the game. If Iowa wins it really wouldn't be that big of an upset. Iowa defense looks very good thus far and Wisconsin has been less than stellar in all 3 of their victories. This is a rivalry game and anything can happen. If I was a betting man I would probably take Iowa and the points.

I meant the Iowa City area, but I agree about the rest. I knew Iowa State would give us fits because they treat it as their Super Bowl every year -- their fans don't care if they win any of their other games. I liked Wisconsin a lot going into the season, but they've really looked not so hot. Iowa needs this one to get rid of some of the embarrassment of last week.

That's why I really enjoy those rivalry games. The season could be complete trash but at least you always have that one game to get up for.

Actually there are quite a few Wisconsin fans on this board, me included. Also - Chicago in general has a TON of Wisconsin alumni. Should be a good matchup. Wisconsin's offense has looked decent at times, defensively they've looked pourous against spread offenses. I expect it to be different this week. And from what I've seen of Iowa, I'll be pretty surprised if they win.

Thankfully we get this game in and not USC. If you want to watch USC in the midwest, go by an expanded sports package.

And by the way, Michigan did not have a better team in 2005... 2002 is arguable.

First of all I am not a Michigan fan. I gave an example of a bad call that went against Michigan in the game in 2002. On Penn St last drive they had a 3rd and 15 or so. Their receiver trapped and rolled up on a ball. It was obvious in regular speed and slow motion. So instead of being 4th and 15 it was 4th and 2. Somehow after the game Penn St fans and Coach cried about the call that went against them. Never have I heard any of them cry about the call that went in their favor a minute earlier. If I was to go back in watch the game with a Michigan bias I am sure that I could easily find 10 calls that didnt go Michigans way. Since I am unbias when it comes to Penn St and Michigan I certainly would consider myself a more reasonable judge of the play calls than a Penn St fan.

Bad calls happen. Losers make excuses for that is why they lose games. Winners understand that you lose games because the other team outplayed you. So yes Michigan was better than Penn St in 2002 and 2005. At least they were on the Saturday they played Penn St.

Personally I think the refereeing during Penn St/Mich St games has been pretty one sided. Of course I have a BIAS for Mich St. Yet I do understand that Penn St has been a better team. Not that the refs are giving them the game.

Lastly just to point out how off based your attack against the refs that supposedly pull for Michigan. How many refs would have to be involved in this conspiracy over the years. Dont you think at this point there would be one of them that came out and said that someone told them to play favorites for Michigan. Since Michigan is easily the most hated team in the Big Ten I would be inclined to believe that more refs are pulling against them than for them. Especially since Penn St is probably the most liked team by other Big Ten fans.
