I really think the Cubs will allow Mulder to have a good game.

Just gotta tip your cap. At least we got a split.

Throw out the standings when these two teams meet. They're a tough team and we were lucky to take 2 out of the 4 in their home stadium.

What is that in your sig, a crab??? Also,i missed game two last night, did kendall have a terrible game or something? I mean I'd like Soto to get more starts too, just seems like a lot of people are bitter at Kendall this morning.

Also, it's my mom's birthday today - I'm taking her out to breakfast, then we're going to a sports bar to watch the game and start drinking before noon. That's going to help the Cubs' odds today.

It's a combination of two things;

In game 1, soto made a great play on a 3rd strike that got by him, back to the backstop. He ran back, grabbed the ball, and fired to first just in time to get whoever was running.

In game two, kendall dropped a third strike RIGHT IN FREAKING FRONT OF HIM, lolly-gagged on picking it up, then made a crap throw that bounced in the dirt to first base; Ludwick was called safe. That started what turned out to be the game winning rally.

Oh, that and Soto had a double that JUST missed going out; and I think kendall went hitless.

People are bitter at kendall because his D is starting to become a major problem on this team. Its an automatic double for anybody with decent speed who reaches 1st. Oh and add in the fact that Kendall is reverting back offensively to when he first got here(.554 OPS!in september), then yea there is going to be some bitterness about a lesser player playing over somebody who gives us a better chance to win.

i am glad soriano is healthy and i hope his wrists stay healthy for the remainder of the season and beyond...

Except that he has been completely all or nothing lately and is a horrible lead-off hitter. Soriano has had some huge home runs lately, but has been terrible in almost every other at bat.

C'mon Cubs. Although you are in first by yourself, you are tied in the loss column meaning that you do not control your own destiny. Win

WTF? Where's Card killer Jones? He even has good numbers against Mulder.

Ankiel is going to homer off Marquis

Hells no. I say his downward spiral continues so far that within two weeks he looks like this:

Wow no bitching about Cedeno yet? That might be a record.

Theriot really needs a day off and the rest of the lineup looks pretty good.

I have no problem with Cedeno playing, but there will be plenty of complaining about it, there is still 45 mins till the game

There might be more complaining if there was another option at SS, but there isn't at this point.

I never thought Id say this, but if we're struggling this much against the Cardinals, where going to really have trouble against the Reds and Pirates.

Lets just hope Mulder doesnt choose today as his breakout game.

How have we struggled with the Cardinals?

A loss and 2 close games that ended up wins. The Cubs were 2 swings of the bat away from losing 3 games in a row to the Cardinals, thats hardly dominating.
