Phew, looks like UCLA will win this one despite playing one ridiculously awful second half except for the last 5 minutes. Ben Olson didn't look that good but he put together a few nice drives. That won't work against good teams but hopefully he can keep improving (realizing he's played about 6 games since his senior year in HS in 2001).

 

27-17 with 1:12 in the fourth quarter.

If LSU stomps Va Tech they should be ranked higher than OU. Miami is garbage. At least the Hokies are decent.

They overturned the call, but there was a roughing the passer penalty, and a blatant one at that.

 

i dont even think there was a flag thrown in the first place... if there was, i didn't see it.

Big Ten teams finished last season ranked Nos. 2, 7, 8 and 24 in the AP Poll and 2, 5, 9 and 25 in the USA Today Poll. That is certainly not "garbage." The mighty Big 12 finished 11 and 13 in each.

 

Your rundown of the Big 10 is laughable as well. One could easily make ridiculous claims and pick out weaknesses of every Big 12 team (perhaps sans Oklahoma). Ohio State was better last year? Really, you think? Well then, Texas isn't good because they aren't as good as they were two years ago. (That said, OSU probably is overrated) Penn State's offense isn't great, but they have quality pieces -- especially at WR. Iowa is a solid team.

 

Oklahoma is likely the best team in either conference. But the Big 10 is better overall.

It's so hard to tell how good any team is, especially right now, since most big-time schools play at the most one quality non-con opponent, and then only conference teams after that.
