Ray King-R-Brewers Sep. 4 - 2:29 pm et

Brewers acquired LHP Ray King from the Nationals for a player to be named.

King rejoins the team he pitched for from 2000-02. The portly specialist had a 4.54 ERA for the Nationals. Left-handers, though, were hitting just .161 off him, showing that he can still be useful while facing one batter at a time. The Brewers are picking him up too late to include him on the playoff roster if they make it.

Yeah, we know he is big.

I dunno what the Brewers are thinking here. they must be desparate. Think they'd take Eyre off our hands?

so how do post-August 31 trades work?

Aren't they no different than pre-August 31st trades, except the players aren't allowed on the playoff roster?

Are you guys talking about the same Eyre that has the best ERA on the Cubs staff since the all-star break? He is still walking guys at an alarming rate, and isn't a good pitcher overall right now, but you don't dump him when he's finally producing.

Ray gives new meaning to the term Burger King.

Imagine all the cheeseburgers sold in Milwaukee when King and Quevedo were on the team at the same time. :D
