Curse of Dane Cook

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere, but those promos Dane Cook does for the playoffs seem to be cursed. They did one on the Brewers before they starting tanking and now they've been playing one about the Mariners who have lost 9 straight. Those are the only two I've seen, but I don't watch ESPN all that much (I think they're on ESPN). If those are the only two, that's pretty funny.

 

I just don't want to hear that obnoxiously loud mouth talking about the Cubs.

And for the record, I think Dane Cook can be very funny, but he's still loud and obnoxious.

Yeah, I saw Tourgasm as well. I think he was the 2nd best comedian there though. I don't think what he did at Tourgasm was his best stuff. A lot of people hate him and I don't understand why. Yeah, he's kind of obnoxious and I don't like his on stage antics all that much, but a lot of his stuff is actually funny. I think a lot of people overrate him, but I also think a lot of people severly underrate him. I can't listen to his Harmful if Swallowed CD and not crack up.

Even worse, not only was he ripping the guy off, he was ripping of a dying man and then really kicked into overdrive after Hicks died.

 

I really enjoy Leary as an actor and have loved his TV shows, but as a comedian I find him to be a total hack and completely reprehensible.

I've found that most people that can't stand him do so because it's pretty clear he's a joke thief a la Carlos Mencia. Cook has ripped off so much of Louis CK's act that it should be criminal. You pull out all of the bits that he's stolen and you're left with a guy braying like a jackass and bragging about his MySpace page.

Yeah, H.I.S. is very funny. Retaliation is a pretty decent comedy album with some great laughs, but sometimes during that it seemed like he was reaching for bits that fit his persona, whereas H.I.S. flowed pretty well.
