"I told him don't worry about me taking days off," Ramirez said before Tuesday's game. "There's no time. We're a game and a half up on the Brewers (before Tuesday's win) and the Cardinals are only two games out.

"So there's really no time for me to take days off. I'm not 100 percent, but I won't be the rest of the year."

Hopefully this will kill all that "Aram is lazy" crap certain Chicago writers like to spew.

The AZ announcer shredded him for not running all out on a groundball to 2nd. Rozner still takes a potshot whenever he can. This isn't going to kill any of that. People have known he's not 100%, but they don't care.

This is 1/2 on subject, 1/2 off....but some guy next to me at the game last night kept going on about how he hates Soriano because he's not a team player and demands to bat leadoff, etc.

Do people just believe what they want to?

Sometimes people believe what they read (or hear), despite the old saying. Some people think certain shows, writers, analysts are great and always give out accurate information. So if they say Soriano demands to hit leadoff or ARam is lazy or whatever, certain people are going to believe it without question.

Yeah, the announcers for Arizona are douche Cub retreads. I don't remember Grace actually "shredding" the Cubs, but Brennaman was going off on DLee and Aram for not "running" out balls in the 9th when the Cubs had a big lead. He went as far as to say "kids, take note that this is a clinic on how NOT to run the bases."

It was almost as pathetic as Grace demanding a standing ovation for a guy when his team was down 3-1.

Isn't Brennamen in Cincy now grinding his ax against Adam Dunn with dad?

It was Daron Sutton who said that, Brenneman does Reds games now. I don't blame you though, they have similar voices. Sutton called it "a joke" that Ramirez basically walked off the basepath once Hudson fielded his grounder during our win in that series.

Thanks ARam. No more games like last night, though.

Brennamen isn't the AZ announcer anymore. That would be Darren Sutton, who has neither his father's ability to throw a baseball or commentate on it.

Thom and Grace were bad; Sutton and Grace make my ears bleed.

I don't really listen to the Arizona announcers, so I can't really speak on the subject. But do you think the Cubs player bashing comes from the announce team being irritated that over half of their home crowd is cheering for the Cubs every time the Cubs make a trip to Phoenix? I don't know this for fact just my initial thought?
