If Milwaukee's pen blows this lead, the Brewers are getting swept. You have your ace come back, throw 6 innings allowing 1 run and blow it late? That'd be about as demoralizing as it comes.

I'm really not seeing doing anything against the Brewers bullpen tonight.

I predict that the bullpen comes in, the Cubs lick their chops and come out super agressive and make a bunch of quick outs.

I'm not saying this as a homer, I really am not. This is completely impartial.

But our offense made Sheets look a lot better than he was. He was kinda all over the place, left some pitches around the plate, and benefitted from the wind.

Our offense makes a lot of people look good though.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Cubs can officially knock all the breeze out of their sails in this series. Hopefully it happens.

I'm just incredibly frustrated with the 3 guys on our team that are supposed "all-star" players. Aram, DLee, and Soriano have killed us this year. If they're hitting like their career norms, we win at least 5 more games up to this point.

Lee and Aram are both above their career OPS

Before tonight's game, the Cubs had grounded into 96 DPs. DeRosa, ARAM, and Jock went in tied with 12 a piece.

So I am right, DeRosa leads with 13 ;)

And all three of them have less than 400 ABs coming in.

I would say the miscellaneous outfielders have hurt us more than the core of Aram, Lee and Soriano.

If we could have gotten a consistent .850 OPS out of both our CF and RF, we'd be in business.

Like Doug Davis, for example.

Sheets had nothing tonight. He was leaving balls up, had no movement on his pitches, and we just let him off the hook time after time after time.

How many runners have the Cubs left in scoring position tonight? 5? 6? That's inexcusable.

Isn't there a thread in BD pointing out how Lee and Ramirez are above their career norms in OPS?

The home runs are RBI's are simply not there. They're not taking the lead on this team, this franchise continues to not really have a captain or leader of the team. Isn't that something that was big in 04 or 05? We had nobody to carry the team and lead.
