Please Matt, get one clutch hit with men on base. Please.

You just leave this thread open on your desktop waiting for the oppurtunity?

Nope, I just get damn frustrated with his continual inability to get a clutch hit.

i'd personally enjoy seeing the 90 million dollar man get a clutch win.

but, at the same time, i still kinda blame the fifth outfielder for this loss.

Out of all the problems with our offense you continually call out Murton, of all people? Are you serious? How about Soriano? Lee?Aram? Floyd? No its a lot easier calling out guys who are being given 1 damn ab a game, and blame them. Give me a damn break.

I actually had a even bigger problem with our "greatest manager in Cub history" going out to the mound in the Top of the 7th after Z had already pitched 111 pitches and had the bases loaded with 1 out. Only to go back to the dugout by himself.

The way Z had handled Braun though I can understand it, and 111 for Z isnt really that high.

I wish you had as much patience with Matt Murton as you do with the Mr. Program Killer, Bruce Weber.

Still not a hit with men on base it doesnt count.

I disagree. He can't put people on base, he can only do what he can do, and it was a big hit in my book.

Thanks for clearing that up. Before you posted, I wasn't sure whether to cheer or boo for that HR.

Maybe you could just post your thoughts on each of Murton's ABs for the rest of his career in this thread. Doesn't have to be big, just "big hit" or "terrible AB" or something. I just need to know what the official stance on each of his ABs is.

Sorry, but I don't have time for that. I think a few here would help you out with that though.

I hope yesterday's game and today's start get him going on a hot streak. We need his bat and he is capable of helping us down the stretch.

Do you actually think I was being serious? I think my stance on this matter is very documented through this pointless thread. Murton has had quite a few big hits for us since being recalled, plain and simple. However Im sure you will continue to call him out for his AB's where he doesnt get that "big hit" while the supposed stars of this team continue to keep sucking without you saying a word.

Sorry, I don't keep track of individuals here and their stance on certain players. I am too busy for that, and it would serve no purpose. As I said, I am cheering hard for Matt and think he can help us down the stretch. I would hope all Cub fans would feel the same way.

well, i'm just glad you're not too busy to drop in occasionally and share your valuable thoughts on murton. thank goodness for that.

you heard it, everybody...the man is very busy...so soak up everything you can because we truly don't know how much more he can give us.

No problem. That is what message boards are all about--a chance to share opinions.

Then why wont you allow opinions on Illini killer Bruce Webber

Except for the ones that you personally moderate, where only one opinion is allowed.

Matt Murton's post ASB line is .294/.351/.515 for an 866 OPS, which exactly matches Lee's and is 5 points below Ramirez.

And people still wonder why people love him and want him to play more when you couple those numbers with his sub 1/2 million salary.

Damn, Pman, I didn't realize that people disliked you so.

I don't really have any problem with your mod'ing on the IB, and wherever you are now.

The problem is that people say "even slightly critical", but what they actually meant was over the top screaming and swearing. These people have less control than a coke addict with tourette syndrome (sp?).

I've admired your sources and links since I joined the community, so don't let these ridiculous people influence you. Probably all Fowa fans anyhow.

That said, Murton played a nice role in last night's game, and hopefully he's back in action. His second hit was against a righty, so that's cool.

I'll never understand the backlash against Murton these days. There are people that cannot handle the fact that there is a popular player who will do well for us, given a chance, I suppose.

He's gotta cut those errors out, though. No more excuses for Lou.
