We used 349 GB of bandwidth last month on this site. We blew out my bandwidth quota and my bill for the month is over $800.

If anyone was hesitating on signing up for Premium, now would be a good time!

What stretches out the bandwidth Tim? Are there things that users can do to try to conserve it a bit?

That's well over 5M page loads last month. I can work to optimize the site graphics a bit and that will help, but it's mainly just traffic.

Stupid question alert: How do I upgrade to Premium? I am having a difficult time finding a link.

I'm sure a significant number of those are from people constantly refreshing the game threads. Not sure if there's a way to get around that, or cut it back, just throwing it out there.

Or it could be the vast majority of people who post without thought to paying $5 dollars for the month.

Tim, I have two problems.

One: I don't know how to only pay 20$

Two: There is no 3 digit security number on my card that paypal requires

If you click the button on the front page to make a donation, you can put in any dollar value you want.

I'm not sure how to fix the second problem.

Sorry Tim, it's just not working.

The 3 digit code is on the back of your card. It is a security code. Look above your signature, you will see a 3 digit code, different than any set of numbers that appears on the front of your card.

Yea, yurns out my Credit card for one reason or another isn't a credit card. It's some sort of technicality where because it's a debit, PayPal won' accept it.

I vow one day to become premium, but not right now.

If you want to send a check, there's a PO Box add'y on the front page, too.

Mine too. I signed up for Premium a few weeks ago with it.

I just realized that I have money in my Paypal account somehow. So, I just went ahead and signed up for a month of Premium to see what the fuss is all about. If it's snazzy enough, I might just go for a whole year.

Tim, let me know when you've received it. Also, how do I log into Premium?

Once he activates it, just click on the premium link on the main page. If you are already logged in through the Regular Boards, it will just let you on, if not, there is a link to log in.

Thanks. One other thing, on Paypal it lists it as a subscription... is it going to automatically deduct 5 bucks from my account every 30 days?

You're set for access. Yes, it will deduct it automatically every 30 days if you signed up for the subscription. But you can cancel it at any time if you don't think it's worth supporting the site. ;)

Thanks! And if you would've told me that the View My Posts link works in Premium, I would've signed up months ago! I'll likely continue to pay just for that reason alone.

It's not really technicality. Credit cards and debit cards are two different things.
