What is the future for Dopirak and Harvey? Dopirak still can't get on base or hit for much average but has 13 HRs. Does he have any tradevalue whatsoever?

And Harvey can't hit or stay healthy, but he can pitch, or at least could at one time.

I had sky high hopes for these two, but they both look like they'll never see the big leagues.

I don't think either will ever see significant time past AA. I think at that level, their lack of discipline at the plate will be exposed significantly.

Considering Dopirak has already been at AA, your "prediction" would be pretty meaningless, now wouldn't it? Do you post just for the sake of posting most of the time, or do you ever have actual content to contribute? Just curious.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Harvey out of baseball in a year or two. There's something wrong when a high draft pick can barely hit .200 in high A. Dopirak will probably just flounder around in high A and AA for a couple of years.

Either way, both don't have much of a future unless you live in Daytona or Tennessee.

I believe he said "past AA", as in AAA or MLB. And the phrase "significant time" was also thrown in there, so I'm pretty sure his "prediction" is still completely possible and probably pretty likely.

Kiss my ass.

But considering Dopirak hit 256/320/339/659 in 53 games at AA, I don't see him getting past there. Harvey will likely be promoted to AA next season, and I expect him to be equally exposed by the better pitchers there.

What the hell?

Was there any point to this? He did say "significant" time, so he qualified his post. I'm not sure why you have a problem with Vance, but there was no reason to post this.

And as far as Brian and Ryan go, I think they have Beer League Softball in their future. Their trade value is probably PTBNL in a waiver deal. They're pretty much total busts.

Pot meet kettle?

So read the "significant time past AA" and tell me how much sense your post made.

Light Tower Power. Well unfortunately these 2 guys dont make enough contact or have enough strike zone judgement to take advantage of that.

Im not ready to toss out Dope yet, although i dont think he deserves a spot on the 40 man. Harvey, thats another story, he hasnt done didly doodoo. Dope at least has that year in Lansing when he was 20 that looks good. Harvey is a terrible bust. Terrible.

These 2 guys are good examples of my preference for players who control the strike zone and have good hitting fundamentals and then build on power as they age, rather than have massive power and hope they can make enough progress in the hitting fundamentals to take advantage of that. I think guys like Vitters who have great hitting talent and a good frame are a better way to go.

(Ed Hansen). Think about it.

We've been in Daytona for the last couple of games, and the difference between these 2 players is actually pretty interesting to me. Harvey's bat has looked good, and has continued to have a great arm out in right field.

Dope, on the other hand, looks old to me. I have a hard time understanding why he is continuing to take a spot on the 40 man and hasn't looked particularly great even against the FSL pitching we've been seeing.

Anyway, just my 2 cents - it's tough seeing these 2 taking up starting spots, though when guys like Alfred Joseph aren't getting the opportunity after getting promoted to Daytona. Hope that they make a decision one way or the other on these 2. With all of the recent promotions, though, I do find it interesting that neither of these 2 were amongst them. Do I remember right that Dope is a FA at the end of the year?
