so the bullpen for the second consecutive day manages to put the game away for the other team. ugh. see ya tomorrow.

Given that our starters ask our bullpen to work at least 4 innings every single game, it's not surprising that our bullpen is starting to wear down.

So what are we, 6-7 in our last 13? Not all is right in Cub land.

And Dempster just isn't right. I'm not comfortable at all handing him the ball with a lead in the 9th.

win the next two and we went 4-3 vs the phils and mets. not terrible at all.

That's a very random stat. Cubs have won 2 of the last 3 series...and tied in the other. If they keep doing that, I like their chances. If they go on to lost this one, they just need to win the next two games against the Mets!

2/3 vs. Cards

2/3 vs. Reds

2/4 vs. Phillies

Let me guess, it's also the umpire's fault for those back-to-back RBI's as well, right?

the whole inning can change after a leadoff walk

yep. david wright is becoming derek jeter. no stirke zone what-so-ever.

Well, what can you do? Tough team, couldn't find the strike zone all day, and we were still close going into the 9th.

I have never said this before either as a player or as a fan,

You cannot beat the umpire.

I've never seen a worse game behind the plate than I saw today.

Holy crap. I haven't seen this terrible of an inning in a while.

The 9th in New York, that 6th run 6th? after the Cubs got 6 in Philly

So how does everyone feel about the rest of this series with Zambranos game being a loss? Now we have to rely on Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis to get us a series win. Doesn't look good at all.
