Are we still a terrible baseball team?

Are you really going to gripe as often as possible about people getting emotional while a game is going on?

I very rarely gripe.

I thought everybody was going o be excited that rich got out of it with very little damage. I thought it was ridiculous to see some of the responses, so I let people know about it.

Any chance people might be "overeacting" on purpose?

3 run shot ramon castro, 4-3 mets

haha, nice. Cubs and Brewers will both have seesaw games all night long. This race is awesome.

Too good to be true. Rich Hill is a not a mental giant out there.

yeah, studies have shown that dumb pitchers are more prone to wild pitches.

Watch him in person. He gets flustered, alot. I don't hate the guy, but showed tons of negative body language Friday night in Cincy. Pacing around the mound, shrugging his shoulders, putting his head down.

It doesn't have anything to do with intelligence, more like composure.

If Friday is a "bad" outing, then I'm not going to complain about Hill's composure or how he goes about his job on the mound.

Did I say it was a bad outing?

It was just a comment on his mannerisms. Things fall apart for him very quickly.

That's a matter of opinion. If there's a strong defensive catcher Hill might not have given up any runs that inning. As it stood he only gave up one, is that falling apart? How do you know that it's linked to his mannerisms? People are different, Hill may show outward displays of frustration in order for him to get over it and focus entirely on the next play.

Sure it was Kendall fault that Hill made a error, Hit, HBP, and walk. There is no one to blame but himself.

Calm down, my point was that one extra-ordinary play by one of his teammates gets Hill out of trouble.

I'm not going to get too excited about a 30 pitch inning even if they get out of it with only one run.

Now 4-3 Mets on an Ramon Castro 3-run HR.

EDIT: I'm about 4 or 5 posts too late.

The vast majority of the criticism of Hill came before he got out of the inning, not after. The conversation about his mental stuff has been going on since before the game started. Besides, that first inning would be more exciting if he didn't get into such a mess in the first place and it wasn't just the first inning.

I'm beginning to just accept Rich Hill as a starter is like Demp as the closer...he'll get the job done, but he'll give you a few heart attacks along the way.

Fly out to RF by the leadoff for the 2nd out.

I don't want to derail the game thread. This will be my last post on the subject

Hypothesis A

a pitcher like Hill gets poor defense (pitcher A)

How do you measure defense? No real good way to do it but you can use errors/game for pitcher A and compare them to the team's errors/game for other pitchers.

Hypothesis B

a pitcher like Hill gets less run support compared to others on the team

That one is fairly easy to measure, no?

Look you are a smart guy. We all know it. You don't need to try to get into a pissing contest with everyone all the time. Especially when you either haven't read what the person wrote or haven't understood the converstation.

I tried to send you a PM but I can't because you have me on ignore. I'd suggest that you either keep me there and don't respond to me or take me off ignore.
