If the Cubs hadn't scored four runs to take the lead in the top of the inning that game got called, it would have been game over, Cubs lose. Taking the lead without giving Pitt a chance to retake it in the bottom of the inning was the reason they suspended that one.

If I remember the rule correctly, it was the fact that they took the lead in the same inning it was called. If it had been that score for a few innings with no lead change, they would have ended it in the top of the inning.

Remember when we were all kinda bracing for the Cubs to cool down and return to the old Cubs but we were kinda hoping that it was for real. Well it might not be. Hill and Marquis are slumping, the offense can't hit, and we've hit 8 HRs in July, last in the league. Time to worry is now.
