don't really want to see Pie in this situation. come on Felix
When Pagan PH for Pie last time, I was hoping he would double switch in and move the pitchers spot up to 8

I wish the guy that ran onto the field after Howry would do the same to Froemming...minus security gang-tackling him.

Thanks Froemming.

Fixed. If Froemming would call balls and strikes correctly, Pie wouldn't have had to be in protection mode.

Froemming ended all hope with that strike 2 call.

Seriously, I think he is the single worst ump in the majors, Bucknor, Hernandez, West and Boyd included.

i gotta say. i'm pretty impressed the cubs didn't flat out roll over and die and the pen has come in and done their job.

now, let's see how far down the slope this roller coaster goes. it's dipping pretty good right now.

Yeah the strike zone has been all over the place for both teams today, probably why they each have 11 K's.

I know this seems oozing with bias, but I genuinely think the Cubs have gotten the big time short end of the stick. The Brewers zone hasn't been all that inconsistent.

yup, and he's been in the league for 37 years. That tells you everything you need to know about accountability of major league umpires - there is none. They made a whole stink about umpire metrics a few years back, but bottom line, an umpire can be inconsistent, bullyish, flat-out wrong pretty frequently, and nothing will happen. It's sad, but MLB has no balls, so they won't fix a damn thing.

Prediction for the bottom of the ninth:

Two of Theriot, Soriano, Fontenot will get on base, DLee will hit a lazy flyball to left field that the fans at the stadium will think is a HR, and ARam will ground out to the SS.
