I'm not trying to rag on Rich, but when a team is fouling this many pitches off it is a sign that you have absolutely nothing.

that's just flat not true. if he had nothing, they'd be hitting the balls all over the field...which they're not doing.

take your sweet time, aramis.

And if he had something, they would be missing more pitches. You can't tell me the high rate of foul balls has nothing to do with the lack of stuff/command he has today.

it doesn't. Kerry Wood always gave up a lot of foul balls, is that because his stuff wasn't very good?

it's not hill's fault that it's his first full year in the majors. sorry he's been awesome nearly 100% of the time since he's been made a starter. i guess the guy in your sig sucks too b/c he's never been good in the majors.

Hahahaha. On a board full of hyperbole, this might honestly be the most far fetched and dumbest thing I've ever seen on here.

since hill has been made a consistent starter since last season he hasn't been good?

No you're right. He's clearly been awesome in nearly 100% of his starts.

he doesn't have his best stuff, as evidenced by some shaky control and the home run. i would say lots of foul balls means he has good enough stuff to not get hit hard, but not good enough stuff to finish guys off. he does have five k's in three innings, so his stuff must be semi-decent.

Felix Hernandez is 20 years old. He takes dumps with more talent than Rich Hill.

good for his dumps. too bad he hasn't thrown any baseballs with more talent than rich hill yet.

Oh yeah I would much rather have Rich Hill than Felix. I really wish Rich Hill was close to the pitcher you think he is.

sorry, i thought you valued pitchers on whether they had completed a full year of good pitching.

I do, but I also defer to age. When you haven't had a good year at 20, it's because you are young and getting established. When you haven't had one at age 28 it's because you couldn't beat out Glendon Rusch to get a big league spot.

wow, is this Dusty Baker???

Did he beat out Glendon? Did I miss when that happened? I am not saying it was right, but he did get a few tries to.

yeah, great argument. rusch clearly outpitched hill during that period. man, your arguments are awful.

His lack of command today has been a bigger problem than his stuff. He's either missing by a wide enough margin that they aren't chasing anything out of the zone or he's hanging it.

Wait am I the one arguing how Hill has been awesome 100% of the time, when he is in the middle of a start where he gave up 5 runs in 3 innings?
