whens Griffey getting here?

Doubtful Hendry will be allowed to take on Griffey's contract with the sale of the team coming up after the season.

He's kidding. He's said that for the last 3 (4?) days.

A little bit of a strange thing-Fontenot didn't get a single chance at a ground ball yesterday, or a single chance to turn a double play. Unless Lou wants to give one of them a day off, my guess is that Fontenot-DeRosa will be the double play combination once again.

last 10 games with Iassonga behind the plate -

Rockies 8-2

Cubs 3-7

last start for the Cubs with Iassonga was the Aram collision with Quade game. Z didn't pitch very well, but was squeezed on outside pitches to righties, while Bergmann had many outside and low pitches called strikes.

.... and from our "glass is half full department"............

CUBS are 5-0 when Dale Scott's crew is umpiring

Dale Scott, Ron Kulpa, Paul Emmel, Dan Iassogna

Note: in the Colorado series, Adam Dowdy is subbing for Paul Emmel

So is it supposed to rain this afternoon in Chicago or not? I heard rain at noon all morning but accuweather shows this:

(Dang I tried to add a radar image but it didn't work. Imagine a radar image of Chicago with no rain except in the far south suburbs.)

Might get a scattered storm, but should be fine.

The Score reports that Aramis is getting the day off, from starting at least, and DeRosa is at 3B. I wonder if that means Fontenot at 2B and Theriot at SS?

Major League reference for the game:

Rachel Phelps: I think he'll fit right in with our team concept.

Charlie Donovan: That reminds me, I was going to ask you. What exactly *is* our team concept?

Just win, bitches.
Cubs still stink!

They'll Lose today and the next 3.

whens Griffey getting here?
the downhill slope of this terrible roller coaster ride starts today.

This board makes me smile.

That's sad to hear, but probably for the best. 2 straight days off for Ramirez will mean that there's a great chance that he's feeling fine for the Brewers series.

I'm sure Fontenot will start at second now-I'm not sure if it will be Theriot or Izturis at SS.

Please be a blow out so I can see Petrick's big league debut on WGN.

I'd like to see Font-tastic get the start at SS again today with Theriot at second. If he shows he can handle it on a fairly regular basis then Theriot slides into the supersub spot and Izturis gets buried on the depth chart or traded for nothing in particular.

That happened to Nomar last night in his first game at 3rd base now that Loney has taken over 1st.

There were conflicting pronunciations last night...

Is is Pea-trick or Pet-rick?

Len and Bob confirmed it was Pet-rick.

Please be a blow out in the Cubs favor, though. And, for the record, it appears 8-3 is not a blowout.

Yup. The old Lansing announcer back in the day would mispronounce his name.

I know I talk about trading the guy a lot, but I am so glad that the currently freakin' awesome Z is pitching today. The guy is no doubt ultra-pumped to get us our 2nd sweep in a row before those damn Brewers roll into town...of course, the flipside of that is I can see Carlos melting down if a few things don't go his way.

Please focus, Z. You don't have to be perfect. Just lock it down.

Cool, thanks. Was at the game last night so didn't hear them say that.

You miss a lot of good info without announcers.
