Is this really accurate? I'm asking this to anyone...I've seen him bobble a couple of plays, but he's had at the very least twice as many stellar grabs and saves.

I think he's looked pretty good and has made some really nice plays. He did have 2 errors but considering he hasn't been there full time you can't expect much more.

I think he has played pretty well at 3rd filling in and if recall he played mostly ss with Atlanta until the arrival of one Rafael Furcal.

Also, the error yesterday was because he had something in his eye. Not really much he could've done about that.

Also, if you read the story in the papers that error last night wasn't his fault. His eye had a flare up and he literally couldn't see the ball coming.

 

I think his 4-5 fantastic plays have outweighed his 1 error that he's made. I think he'd do fine at SS still.

Realistically though, even if he's somehow a step down from Theriot or Izturis, the offensive advantage would be huge, considering the Cubs' SS are currently at about a 540 OPS. If he just puts up a 750 OPS there that's worth any downgrade in defense, and more.
